We have a tank unit in our homes that heats water so that it’s ready whenever
idk if I’ve ever met someone without one. It’s just sort of seen as part of a home, I guess

We use gas to heat the water here.

from what ik, people use either:

1) tank (heats water with gas or electricity)
pros: cheaper, can store lots of hot water
cons: can burst and flood the house

2) tankless (electric)
pros: efficient
cons: expensive, can't produce large quantities of hot water
