I think Faker got the South Korean government to make military service for gamers not mandatory. I could wrong here, but I read it somewhere. Cause I remember Bts fans criticizing South Korean government for this move

It's not like that.
Esports is a oficial sport in this year Asian Games, so because they won, they are now exempt from going to the military service because in Korea if you win Gold in Asian Games or just a medal in Olympics you are exempt.
