after seeing the meL news and this website's meltdown lets see if the points people make, make sense.

for the sake of this we will be using the 2023 rosters (whatever the teams were b4 champs) and we will go across the franchised leagues and go with teams that speak english (to my knowledge, tell me if i miss out on any teams).
lets say she wants to igl even willing to co igl and or midround.
she will be playing control and senti.
she also gets a fair chance and all we have to see is the games she has played for V1 and C9W, (we will also consider the 'skill gap' between GC and T1/T2)
im not considering female/male friendships or whatever people are saying because as the title says. if the world is right, so in this hypothetical world everyone is friends

so lets see who she would possibly replace if there was trials

we also have to note that slasher could be on the freeze pipe and that her old org did not want to let her go.

personally if you want to eventually reach T1 you have to show you can work it out in the lower tiers or have some prior experience which is at the T2 or T3 level
may not be the right comparison but its like a high school kid going to the nba out from high school, other then lebron and kobe who else can say theyve been as sucessful.
everyone goes to college (T2/T3) before reaching the big time. maybe she could make the jump maybe not

There is also be an argument to be made that there are better players in the Male scene itself who can replace these players better than her. I'm all for trials though. Would love to hear your opinion on this.

As someone who's competed in scrims against top GC teams in EMEA I can safely tell there is a significant skill gap between male and female rosters, even male tier3/tier4 can outclass tier1 GC.

Mel shouldn't be judged by her gender but you can see why there's some people hesitant to take a female player into T1 when there's alot of male talent equivalent if not better than GC in t2/t3.

its crazy that all this drama happened even tho Mel didnt really have anything to do with it, she wanted to keep it on the low which was pretty interesting.

let me tell you, theres two parameters for this thing
1) if you consider skills only and consider equality of gender, there are many men players skilled than mel, who, if any of the team wanted to sign would have signed them any ways. also if the team did not wanted to sign those good players and was happy with their current roster, its their choice anyways.(so gender does not matter here)
2) if we consider the gender factor, it is a known fact for sure that female players lack skills, so there can be a biased approach, but since riot hosts a special tournament for females, they should focus on it rather fight over it. if the gc tournaments were not hosted, and then a girl was rejected, then the things would have been different.
+girls are emotionally weaker, so if a team is losing the only thing running through a girls mind will be, "i am the only girl in team, my team is gonna blame on me " which will put more pressure on her.

but personally i think MOST players, male and female, can be developed into tier 1 talent regardless of their current skill. some will falter as with a lot of players but i think under the right circumstances gc players can thrive and dominate, it will just take time for it to develop due to conditions placed on gc by riot and teams in general

didnt the team with zombs prod sinatraa etc finished way ahead of v1? like she surely has to prove in t2 before she even thinks of trials
