I don't consider it to be an overall end-all projection, but a single metric.
Like in finance, for example, people look at multiple such metrics like the Money Flow Index in determining their prediction for the outlook of a stock

If a team repeatedly plays with a player, they have interest in them joining the roster. Signings do not rely on scrims I agree as there's way more background to it but it shows a great idea of what they're interested in. Roster locks do exist so it won't take long for the team to come to an agreement

it's crazy how tex was one of the best (if not the best) duelists in tier 2 and people act like he's very underqualified for franchising. he's also one of the few duelists that can play raze at a high level
