EXPLAINING VAL GREATEST HISTORY

Hello everyone! EG won champions today and i want to talk about it with you guys, explaining a lot of points you might have missed on the whole story!

But where do we start? Let's talk about EG and Havan Liberty (I'll explain later.)

In 2021, EG didn't have a solid roster, of course some good players like Temperature, and potter that is going to be remembered a lot on this thread. On the third Open Qualifier they got embarassed by Sentinels, which had a overall nice roster at the time.

Havan Liberty wasn't that bad tho, they had some good players at the time like shion and liazzi, and of course, heat. They would win against brazil's favorite Gamelanders on the playoffs on the Reykjavik qualifier challengers, but weren't able to go through Sharks and Vikings.

Unfortunately, heat was removed from HL because of some problems with not being aligned with the org philosophy.

Then, heat got into Vivo Keyd, a new roster from brazil with good players, including heat and murizzz. And, hey, they won challengers! Got into berlin and got 1-2 and eliminated.

EG didn't qualify for LCQ sadly. Vivo Keyd went to champions and besides having that camera incident, and getting eliminated 0-2, the world saw how good those players could be.

On the next year, EG had a mid performance on split 1, but already with players like Jawgemo and the IGL Boostio. Vivo keyd got 3rd place and didn't qualify as well.

At the second split, EG surprised the world by upseting OpTic, arguably the best team in 2022, with C0M playing for them, we could already see that EG was going to be something. It wasn't enough though, as they lost to OPTC and then NRG. Vivo keyd got 3rd at the time as well, but with RgLM this time (a good controller player from Ingaming)

On LCQ, both teams weren't that good at the time, since EG got 0-2 and VK got 4th. But, andrezin, why are you talking about vivo keyd so much? This isn't a EG thread? wait and see.

Franchising time! EG got in franchising and got a bunch of new players, specially ethan and bcj. They signed a ranked demon as well but there weren't a lot of expectations for this roster.
VK wasnt lucky enough, but MIBR signed heat, murizz and rglm, a core from VIVO KEYD. Then, the both teams went terrible in lock in, with EG winning one match at least.

In the Americas league it wasn't any better, MIBR upset NRG at least, but EG was 0-2.

So, remember that ranked demon? Demon1 was now starting for eg, in BcJ's place. After losing to 100t, the coach potter (I told you, huh?) decided to put demon1 at the team.

But even at there, EG had a slow start, but got some wins against KRU, SEN, LEV and MIBR. Was it enough to go to play offs tho? Meanwhile, after losing to c9, MIBR decided to bench heat because of some internal problems that i won't go through, and then they had TxoziN (a friend of murizzz) to start, as he was the sixth man.

Let's talk about the part you were waiting for.

Lotus, 1x1 on maps, 12x7 on rounds. Will TxoziN pull off this clutch? HE KNIFES THE DEFUSER! AND EG GOES TO THE PLAYOFFS!

After that, MIBR didn't qualify (and lost on LCQ too) but EG did! And OMG THEY DID!

After winning against C9 and NRG, EG got into Tokyo!!!

They were on fire, got out of groups, faced LOUD and DEMOLISHED them on Fracture and ascent, then won against liquid, lost to fnatic, won against prx and were at the grand finals!

Their momentum wasn't enough, sadly. Fnatic at tokyo was probably the best team at valorant history.

But hey, champions time.

Kind of an easier group for them, since none of the teams were the best of their regions. 4-0 against FPX and FUT.

On playoffs, they beat EDG. And holy fuck. Demon1 and boostio were talking a lot, shooting bodies, and it was so fun to watch. Some hate of the community, but who cares? this shit is funny af.

At upper semifinals, EG faced DRX. Another massacre for the NA powerhouse. With C0M dying in purpose for Rb's turret while the whole team was laughing.

Then, on the upper finals, EG was put against PRX, and after a close match (some might call a choke) EG lost 1-2 and would face LOUD, the brazilian superteam.

After starting 2-0, LOUD was looking for a comeback as they made 2-2, but EG'S Bind was on point, and was no match for LOUD.

Grand finals time! EG x PRX

We just watched it, PRX opened 1x0 but it wasn't enough to stop EG'S momentum and quality. 3x1 and they are the champions of 2023.

Congratulations, EG. What a nice history you guys have.
