Soniqs t1 yet

I just wanna see people’s opinions on soniqs rn, taking a map off sentinels can u consider them edge of t1 yet? Looking for opinions no baiting

no, no offence but people need to understand that SQ had so long to prep against SEN and that map was just unlucky, seems like they were warming up but idk

one match one map isnt gonna make them edge of anything but its a step in the right direction, maybe in time or with roster changes (dont ask what because i dont know) they have some t1 potential, they have a chance to make closed this time i feel

I don't know about all that but you can very clearly see soniqs is improving and teams like TSM should be signing up for these nsg tournaments

not yet, I would say top 2 in tier 2 tho. They need to beat any tier 1 team once or twice to make the jump imo

As someone who wants Soniqs to do well. It’s still hard for me to classify them as Tier 1 when their best feet is taking a map of SEN, a team that is known to start slow as times. But in saying that, if Soniqs do well in challengers 2 and qualify for the playoffs, then do well there. Sure I will consider them Tier 1. But Tier 1 for me they need to constantly be a threat for taking a Master slot and taking those Masters slots occasionally. And right now, Soniqs has not showed that yet. I will say I think there is true improvement, which is all any fan can hope for. IMO they are a strong Tier 2 team,

nah i think they still actually gotta win stuff. it's unfortunate they ran into sen so early and it seems to be sen taking them out everytime but i personally think u actually need to win stuff or be close to winning before u enter the tier 1 scene. and no nsh monthly games don't count lol. they looked good but they did get boomed on their last two maps.

sure but sentinels are probably not studying footage as much and spending more time on other T1 teams they'll be taking on in the future. Taking a map on a team right after a big tournament is the same thing BBG did and they're on the verge of being a tier 3 team.

just because you take 1 map off of Sentinels doesn't mean you're t1
but they definitely have t1 potential

why wouldn't they... as a viewer you are underestimating an opponent, that is the first step a team can make that can lead to an upset.

I would say they are like T1.5 (basically a really dominant T2 team that needs some wins to establish themselves as T1)

They are in a position similar to the one XSET, IMT, LG were in for a while leading up to and during VCT stage 1

Being tier 1 means you are a serious contender to win Challengers Finals and qualify to Masters. Soniqs is not even close.

Not yet. But they are getting closer. It's clear that some tier 1 teams are dropping off and will soon be replaced. Hopefully Soniqs can play against SOME tier 1 team that isn't the best team in the world next qualifier.

If that was true they would have seen vods at least a few vods of eu teams before going to iceland yet they didnt, you are being naive if you think just because of their status they dont prepare for the team they will play against on x day thats not how you become the best thats how you become arrogant and inconsistent.

In my opinion, we have to wait till challengers 2 to decide that. The only opportunity that SQ has had to face a T1 team is SEN, so if they do well against multiple t1 team in challengers 2 then i feel we will have to consider them t1.

No way Sen didn't do prep after upsets like andbox and BBG. They always do their homework.

Not yet. we need a little more consistency and they need to actually BEAT other T1 teams so we can consider them serious contenders for Masters. That's what it means to be Tier 1

I never said they didn't prepare, I said they didn't prepare to the extent that Soniqs or BBG did. Also what you said makes no sense cause SEN had plenty of time to study vods before iceland but didn't which shows that they don't study vods that much. I remember a few months ago shahz said that he is the only one that vod reviews and will just relay certain information to the team. I know for a fact that other T2 and T3 teams take vod reviewing way more seriously.

Based on Iceland I would say SQ is definitely Tier 1 EU. Still Tier 2 NA though.

Best take I've seen, it's the fact that the only "decent" team they've beaten is renegades. You also can't base a teams skill on a singular map and I don't think its fair to consider a team tier 1 until they can consistently compete against other tier 1 teams which is something they haven't proven yet but I wouldn't be surprised if they did in the near future.

the hard part is that they're always in SEN's bracket. We need to see them vs other T1 teams

I'd say yes they look pretty solid and definitely have the potential to reach top5 NA soon

i used to define tier 1 by anyone that has a fair chance at winning a tourney
but with sentinels now, that kinda implies everyone is t2

imma just call sentinels tier 0 and SQ tier 1
