So apparently the rules for VCT 2024 are being changed a little to allow every VCT Partnered Team to partner up with a team in the Challengers circuit, which would allow them to use any of their players as subs throughout the entire season regardless of roster locks; in exchange, the VCT team (with its Riot money) will pay the challenger's players t2 salaries and if they do promote one as a sub they will have to pay them a franchising salary.
I actually really like this. For one, it's not mandatory, it's an option on the table for a lot of tier 2 teams who might be skeptical of the financial viability of pursuing valorant t2. It will keep a lot of teams around; especially in the case of another long off-season. Teams that are in desperate need of money will take it and teams that know their players are good enough to win the whole thing might not.
It will definitely keep a lot of teams circulating around t2 for sure. And it will also give t2 players a lot of chances to prove themselves on the big stage which is healthy for the ecosystem
