What??? So you're telling me the management that has 0 experience with Valorant is picking up players? I'm sure coaches had a big say in the players they can pick or else it would make no sense and would be even more of a failure if Kaplan and Sykko was entrusted with a roster they didn't even want. And if Potter is entrusted with picking up an academy team and forming a 10-man franchise roster, alongside with mCe being able to drop vanity and yay. I'm sure these coaches have a lot of power, not to mention that Fnatic was willing to get Leo and Chronicle and also invested in Alfajer earlier. All these decisions were heavily impacted by the coach and the igl.

Coaches need to consider:

-Org budget
-Roles/meta
-Potential team chemistry (personality/character of each player and how well they will mesh)
-Do the players they are considering even want to be on their org
-Riots rules (i.e. 1 interregional import) + 6th man
-Rostermania (other teams poaching players before they can)

I'd say that given these factors, coming out with a proven core from XSET + 2 world champions + TenZ, their initial roster looked pretty damn good on paper. Unfortunately, there were issues related to them not anticipating certain aspects of the meta and some of their comps were pretty troll at the beginning of the year. Adaptations were made, one of those being Sacy on controller, but given all the changes being made tot he roster throughout the season, it made it very hard for Sentinels.

EGs 10 man roster could have flopped just as hard as it succeeded. C9s T2 poaching could have completely failed.Teams can make all the adaptations and changes they want but when it comes to results that shits a gamble at the end of the day.

Your message basically just discredits mCe and Potter, there is no luck only success or failure. The SEN coaches regarding the org budget had the most freedom compared to orgs like EG & C9.

Are you good homie? I don't know if you only watch valorant or anything but out of those three orgs, it would be easier to assume that Sen have the smallest budget. Sen is the smallest and most financially weak team out of those three teams in esports. And how would you even know who has the most budget? Even if Sen was a bigger org which they aren't, the budget is up to the management to decide, not anything that we can guess. Furthermore, you now start talking about the elements of the roster e.g the players on the team. If you are trying to make a point on the org not picking up the right players, how is this kaplan's fault? Sykkont was the one who made this team. And don't even say that Kaplan should have made roster changes because by the time he was head coach, sen was already getting dissed for changing the roster up too much. Like its crazy, the coach makes changes and the fans go ballistic, but if the coach doesn't make changes the fans still go ballistic. Plus, from what I heard, Sen seemed to be doing very well in scrims, so there seemed to be no need to change anything bts right? If the players cannot perform as well as they do in scrim how is that kaplan's fault.

There's multiple factors outside of a coaches control. To me, that's luck. Not saying that a coach doesn't need skill and experience to succeed, but there's definitely some amount of luck needed to be the absolute best in the world. If you genuinely think that Sentinels somehow have a higher budget than Evil Geniuses or Cloud9, I'd consider you delusional.
