I just wonder why VCT have so much diversity when it comes to top teams. Other esport titles mostly have one or two region monopoly as the top teams but for val, I feel like we have so many teams from different region winning top 3 so far. Is it because Valorant is still new or the meta keep changing or something else ?

I mean riot made the esport to be very global plus for the everywhere apart from maybe EU/CIS going pro in valorant is much more accessible than CS and other FPS‘

Riot has tried their best to keep the game as globally competitive as possible.
They've given regions constant international experience even though the region may be weak.
They've also imposed some strict import rules to help promote regional talent.

What also helps is the fact it's a global game, there's a large playerbase in almost every corner of the world (which I think is only achievable with newer games).

didn't cs also allocate spots to asian teams ? but I've never seen any asian teams shine that much in majors tbh. In val there's so many quality asian team

Yeah but there’s only 2 spots allocated for them out of the 24 teams and it’s hard to break into the qualifiers if you aren’t from China, Mongolia or ANZ

going pro in cs is more accesible. there will never be t2/3 teams playing in champs but you see it in cs majors every year

If i have to answer in one word it's more like Riot wants the game to be more globle for example in CS there is not much chance for Asian teams but valorant from the begining gave slot to these regions and the game developed everywhere slowly

There are only some regions left who don't really have good teams
