Word on Twisten and VIT

Just had this thought:

Can you imagine how Bonecold, Molsi, Destrian, Cender, and Salah would be feeling right now?
I am sure that they would be blaming themselves in some way regarding Twisten having thoughts along the lines of:
"If we had performed better and qualified for Tokyo, then maybe our teammate would not have taken his own life,"

In no way are any of the Vitality players or coaches at fault. It is important to show support to those in need of it.

I can't imagine what any of Twisten's family, teammates, coaches, and friends must be going through.

At the end of the day, Valorant is just a game, and when reality hits, the community must always come together.

I highly doubt performances matter. He was just mentally ill

qualifying for tokyo would have given him more incentive to keep living

at the end of the day we don't know the kind of pain he was going through, just speculation

I think we should be supporting the players and staff on vitality but we don't need to weave narratives like this or make assumptions

Of course - but it’s an intrusive thought, something that will probably nag at them, and even if it is irrational it doesn’t stop them from having the thought “what if we qualified”

please think more clearly. success doesn't mean shit to someone with depression/tendencies. this is just beyond tone deaf and mean to the VIT guys

First, someone just killed themselves it's not good to make speculations.

Second, anyone that has seen firsthand the consequences of suicide KNOW that you don't need a "trigger" that will just make you attempt/commit suicide. You can just wake up one day, nothing significantly bad had happen and you say "today is the day" and that's it. From all the suicidal people whom I know who attempted suicide, none of them ever had one big key event that made them attempt, it's a multitude of things that build up over time. He had mentioned it here and there and it's clearly something he has struggled for a long time, his teammates were aware of it, and their testimonies say so.

I understand what you mean tho but hopefully, we can bring something positive out of a deeply sad situation and I am sure Vitality, knowing the org, will have psychological guidance for the players and staff. All we can do as a community is lookout for each other. There are a lot of Valorant pros who have shown signs of struggle with mental health and in forums/reddit people just shit on them which does not help. There's one BIG recent case and people are just still clowning the guy...
