sad but true, and its kinda the only reason why her complaint loses substance, at least in the eyes of the general public. GC is all about representation and inclusivity n shit, so any and all attempts at uplifting the scene are welcome, even if it's meme-y or unserious. I guess her complaint loses substance either way tho, cause at the end of the day it's his money and his team, he can do fuck all with it.
so u know how investors judge a company's financial performance
ESG score is a metric to judge how ethical or "good" a company is
problem is all the bullshit that comes with it like diversity hirings with a total disregard for competence
meanwhile these shitter companies will engage in nepotism, favoritism, and "recommendations" for the roles that actually bring in money but on paper atleast they're diverse so we all good!
to an extent what she's saying makes sense, but at the end of the day the GC event is an open qualifier. someone can put together a team just for shits and giggle and play if they want to. while dsg does have a pro gc player, it's clearly meant as an experiment and more so as a test and to have fun for the streamers/content creators.
difficult situation imo. WIth those 4 being such big streamers, it's bound to get more eyes on the GC scene, but there is a fair point to make that this could just be a publicity stunt by DSG to get some good boy points and takes a spot from other possibly more talented individuals. She also brings up a good point about the potential viewers they get being just there for the streamers and not for the actual gameplay, we saw a lot of this with teams in the VRLs last year, where games with KOI or Karmine Corp getting hundreds of thousands of views, while other barely got 1k. Hopefully this gets some eyes on the NA GC scene, but tbh I doubt it's going to result in anything in the long term
GC first needs to have entertainment to consolidate the viewer to then be discussed to increase the competitive level and today DSG brings what is needed to get numbers for the league to become sustainable. An example: CBLOL is the second worst league in LoL but it is the 4th most popular and self-sustainable being minor, do you know why? It has teams with players that create a lot of content and know how to engage with the community and what we want to see
I understand her point of view, but the fact of being a team of 4 weel known streamers still brings exposure to the GC scene, also it's not like they aren´t practicing and takeing it litely, yesterday TenZ was helping one of them, giving them OPing tips, today Kanpeki was helping Kyedae
