Is the FGC basically the chinese league? Why EDG and FPX are not playing in it? Or did they get a by to playoffs or whatever?

It's not the Chinese league. It's a separate third-party tournament that has been the main competition in China since 2021.

Last time the chinese berthes of lock in were determined through FGC. This time maybe, the official league would be launched in mid-year.

I doubt the official chinese league will be launched before 2024, and even if it did this year, there would be no time for it before Masters Tokyo.

It depends, but looking at the timing, I'd be more inclined to believe that the Chinese league will come later, rather than being shoehorned in just to fit Masters Tokyo's timeline. FGC for now suits the timeframe for the qualification, imo.
