Seems weird to even compare the two. LOCK//IN is a bigger tournament than Katowice. If anything, LOCK//IN is more like a major or Cologne
I mean even at its worst (Rio major), it still peaked at 1.4 mil. I’d say that’s pretty impressive considering it was only slightly under LOUD vs Optic at Champs (which is the most viewed match at lock//in as well)
csgo peak was 2.7 mil in 2021 stockholm major the viewership has only gone down hill since while valo has increased every year
it only fell off in the same way that every esport did cuz of COVID becoming less of a problem. IEM Cologne reached the highest viewership of all colognes, and rio is rio, there were no good teams in playoffs so viewership was low. it would be the same if only underdogs made playoffs at LOCK IN.

league shouldn't be compared with any other esport. val faced the same drop at copenhagen that cs did at rio. this is what happens when unpopular teams make the grand finals of the biggest stage.

escharts only uses twitch most of the time. Its usually less accurate as they dont count yt properly, and they dont show which platforms they are counting on.

It's not from the main channel only. Streamer and other channel such as br from both twitch and YouTube are already accounted from. The only unaccounted is from website like bilibili or illegal streamer that doesn't have riot permission
