for me personally I don't fake my accent like and I don't have that stereotypical Indian accent too.

I don't think anyone from our generation speaks like that.
The old people did used to speak like that rarely and why he mentioned south because a majority of Indians who migrated belonged to southern India.

There is no general Indian accent but I heard there's like 20 different official languages so people who learn English from a different language may have the accent of that language I have a lot of Indian friends and they talk just fine

but yes only boomer 50+ south indians speak like that and are the ones who migrated the most
other than that indians have a really generic accent which doesnt sound goofy like the stereotypic one
