Except for maybe China (and a tiny tiny minority of APAC/KR) none of Asia has the tac fps experience to make good IGL’s and coaches.
Look at the successful teams:
DRX: core used to be Koreas only decent CS team
PRX: Benkai, the IGL, was a cs player that had qualled to S tier events, no majors though
Zeta: edit: all of players were ex CS players, AFAIK Ex- Absolute Jupiter CS
Now let’s look at recently successful teams.
TS:
Pre-Warbirds: incredibly mediocre, flourished before anyone really had great stratbooks in APAC, and dropped off soon afterwards
Warbirds: Now, with a good coach from a region with plenty of experience in tac fps, team is playing beautifully with discipline and thought out plays

Gen.G: not sure idk, k1ng was old VS player also head coach is OCE which def has more experience than kr in cs at least

(Reminder I’m not looking anything up this is just prior knowledge if I’m wrong about something then tell me)

Asia has plenty of fantastic mechanical skill but much of the region simply does not have the experience needed to make good calls as an igl/coach, which is more important in val than mechanics
I think DFM, T1 (at least what we’ve seen so far), and other pacific teams are good examples
Mechanics are all there, simply no deep experience in the genre for calls (especially for mid round calls based on intuition and experience) and strats

TLDR: pacific teams other than proven ones like PRX/DRX are actually good, they just don’t have the foundation and experience in tacfps to build off of for good IGL’ing and coaching. With proper coaching and mindset these teams will play fantastically, as shown by TS

TS’s coach is Warbirds. There are two small bits underneath TS about how they did before him and with him
I didn’t put them right after “TS” because it would have looked odd with the two mini paragraphs separated

just cause of that i hope TS makes it really far, i love seeing T1 franchised teams taking a chance on unknown talent
