"2 year promotion"

does anyone know if this means a team could theoretically:

  1. win ascension and get promoted
  2. play in the league for 2 years
  3. immediately win the next ascension and continue playing in the league for 2 years

without any breaks?

you're only allowed 2 years max, after that ur not allowed to play in the league again

I doubt they could pull that off without getting key players poached by franchised teams but maybe

I think so yeah it should be like this otherwise it wont make sense but if a team made ascension and stayed for 2 years at decent results i think riot can consider giving them a spot.

i don’t think we have enough information atm to come to a conclusion

They could even deserve the franchising spot much than a franchising team, replace that team and stay in the league forever

After two years, teams will return to their league to battle their way back through Challengers and Ascension tournaments.

I'm just confused about the timeline, specifically whether they be forced to take a year off.

That's the point, most teams selected for franchising will poach the top players from other teams to form superteams. The best of the best. Bleed dropped their roster, they will most probably rebuild from scratch.

Now Riot wants to let other teams (new players like Trent and The Guard in NA) who just come out of nowhere and prove to be pretty good a chance.

If they win Challengers Ascended (New name for VCT APAC, NA, EMEA) they get to join the franchising league.

yeahhh, especially if it's a smaller org that makes it through.

the bigger orgs will at the very least have the resources to make roster changes if they perform badly

If you do really good and someone of the franchised doesn't Riot can make the swap every 4 years since you already have experience with them

When their 2 years are up, the following year they go back to challengers league and have to go through promotion again

Yes I was also curious about that . But ig the small org will be paid good money by RIOT to continue their operations which would be W

This. Small orgs will get big org funding so if they need a stronger player if two theyll be able to get them

one year break minimum. i doubt you would be allowed to play in the main league and ascension simultaneously

but it for sure isint, right? then tier 2 league would be non-existent as it would exist only during the off-season. im p sure this will be a year-long circuit

ah nvm ascension is a single tournament, it still seems to be exclusive for teams that qualified thru challengers

no lol. those are 2 completely different statements.

#2 says you're never playing in the league again.
YOU are saying they have to climb again. Which is what the official announcement says.

if #2 was right, it would retarded.

You can’t play the international league and challengers at the same time. Challengers is designed for teams who are not apart of international league.
