does anyone know if this means a team could theoretically:
- win ascension and get promoted
- play in the league for 2 years
- immediately win the next ascension and continue playing in the league for 2 years
without any breaks?
arecyc [#2]you're only allowed 2 years max, after that ur not allowed to play in the league again
That would be braindead
arecyc [#2]you're only allowed 2 years max, after that ur not allowed to play in the league again
After two years, teams will return to their league to battle their way back through Challengers and Ascension tournaments.
I'm just confused about the timeline, specifically whether they be forced to take a year off.
nutab1e [#3]I doubt they could pull that off without getting key players poached by franchised teams but maybe
That's the point, most teams selected for franchising will poach the top players from other teams to form superteams. The best of the best. Bleed dropped their roster, they will most probably rebuild from scratch.
Now Riot wants to let other teams (new players like Trent and The Guard in NA) who just come out of nowhere and prove to be pretty good a chance.
If they win Challengers Ascended (New name for VCT APAC, NA, EMEA) they get to join the franchising league.

You are, but have to grind from the start again
JiangLi [#11]2 years Seems too long to me but let's see what happens
yeahhh, especially if it's a smaller org that makes it through.
the bigger orgs will at the very least have the resources to make roster changes if they perform badly

When their 2 years are up, the following year they go back to challengers league and have to go through promotion again

not what I meant

Yes I was also curious about that . But ig the small org will be paid good money by RIOT to continue their operations which would be W

This. Small orgs will get big org funding so if they need a stronger player if two theyll be able to get them
Pope [#19]one year break minimum. i doubt you would be allowed to play in the main league and ascension simultaneously
well, if ascension was after champions, they could.
queueK [#20]well, if ascension was after champions, they could.
but it for sure isint, right? then tier 2 league would be non-existent as it would exist only during the off-season. im p sure this will be a year-long circuit

ah nvm ascension is a single tournament, it still seems to be exclusive for teams that qualified thru challengers
AladdinINSANE [#9]but it is this.
Then u are demoted u have to climb again.
no lol. those are 2 completely different statements.
#2 says you're never playing in the league again.
YOU are saying they have to climb again. Which is what the official announcement says.
if #2 was right, it would retarded.
