that's why they have noise cancelling headphones

they cant hear the audience. They have 2 audio devices. Inne Ear Monitors which provide game audio and outer headphones which give a certain white noise frequency which blocks ambient noise

They can, but it's not clear, the crowd sound is very muffled

They use their own earphones under the noise canceling head set. Don't think the crowd is loud enough. You would need the entire 3k-ish audience whistling etc, like what happens I cs.
