Riot should host Champs on a cruise ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean….

The ship will pick up every player from their home country AND fans for the crowd. Then they play international waters… PLUS we get a diverse crowd and crazy venue.

It’s a win win for everyone…. Send this to riot asap🤔

OR, players could all get visas before challengers and teams could compensate them so if they lose it’s a win win situation. It’s the most logical and safe way to do things with a time buffer.

Cruise ships have satellite internet which would be fast enough to broadcast the tournament

so even if it's a ship, it has to be stable internet

how to solve visa issue:

apply visa before you start the tournament (or do assessment on how likely you can get the visa), if you can't get visa, you can't play qualifier

Satellite internet is really good now. Starlink (like the other guy said) is new and will soon be better than regular internet

This is absolute cap. Modern day internet infrastructure involves trillions of feet of fiber optic cables under oceans and land connected to hundreds of thousands of server buildings. No satalite can be faster than that because of the time it physically takes to send information to orbit and back. There's a reason ethernet is much faster than wifi, which in turn is faster than cell towers, which is faster than satalite.

Could have sworn I read an article that said Starlink will have lower latency than traditional internet once all the satellites are set up eventually. I might have been wrong though my bad

It probably will be faster than wifi (definitely in certain places), but not ethernet and other hardwired connections. The big advantage of starlink is it can send data to places that currently can't get any because there's no cell phone towers/cables there.
