Why Japanese fans are different.

I think they treat esports like an opera house performance while we treat it like a common spectator sport. That’s why the fans are so respectful? Imo I like the hectic mess the other regions give. It’s much more enjoyable.

How have faze not even given a proper setup to their valo squad after performing lights out to get into knockouts? This was their single important match-up to directly qualify to Copenhagen and they rented an internet cafe? grim

Nah Japanese people are more respectful when it comes to noise. For example, when a foreign singer/artist goes to Japan for a concert, it is uncommon to see Japanese people singing along or making noise for the artist compared to other countries. Some may not like this, but I'd say they're just more careful and respectful

True, I love how vlr.gg are circle jerking how good it is when it's not. Crowd cheering and hyping up is always a good thing as it makes the game more lively and intense compared to people only clapping on specific occasions and cheering when people ask them to cheer.

I never said Japan is bad. And you've got to be retarded as well. Policing fans is totally a greeeeeat thing for the industry. Imagine going to a football tournament and not being able to cheer or hype your favourite team. Just do some thinking. Just think for a moment, imagine going to an esport event not being able to cheer for your team and the only thing you hear is clapping. Totally entertaining isn't it ? Do some mental gymnastics please, people were complaining about how boring IEM Dallas crowds were given that they weren't cheering as much. Imagine if we followed what the Japanese are doing. It would literally make any sports boring.

Yes, it's boring, so go watch another event, its a Japanese event hosted by japanese vct for Japanese viewers and players. This is what they enjoy, so let them be. By this argument, every crowd is bad, brazil and latam too toxic, Danish nonexistent unless its Astralis playing, american is ResidentSleeper, english crowds be english. Literally you can complain about every crowd at every lan. Who cares, go watch another badly produced PGL lan and complain about it on hltv instead of making an account to complain about Japan and call people slurs when you're wrong.

"Yes, it's boring, so go watch another event," Love the downplaying here. It's still doesn't change the fact that it's detrimental to esports as it cultivates a boring experience for people who are outside of Japan. People in general attend to tournaments is to cheer and support for their teams and not to mention to experience the hype. The fact that your not allowed to do so would just make boring experience for the audience there and people who are watching on twitch. Maybe in Japan they don't but most people do. And your point about " brazil and latam too toxic" care to elaborate please. If your saying that they are toxic because they chant Fuck a certain team then you got to be a snowflake.

When I say "cheering" I mean by "shouting for joy or in praise or encouragement.". Yes they can be clapping or showing their support with banners but without the crowd "cheering" it just makes it a boring experience. Like I said, take football for example, if people were just clapping and showing banners , it would make a boring experience for both the viewers and the audience as the main attraction to football is not only the plays but the crowd 'cheering" for their teams. Here an example of how cheering can make a sport more entertaining and lively https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RuMgKUmzf8. Imagine replacing that with people who are just clapping and showing banners.

I'm not arguing this because clearly you dont get the fucking point. It's not an international lan, it's a japanese lan, catered to Japanese people. And if you want to go take a detour towards the latam/br toxicity, are you just clueless. Have you ever listened to what players have had sent to them from the fans in those countries in both cs and val. You can root against a team but it doesn't go farther than that. I can say having parents from Argentina and Brazil that you dont fuck with either of their fanbases in any sport, especially soccer.

Look at the difference in prize pools between NA and JP and the production quality. Plus it’s a LAN instead of a online cafe (hint faze)

Idk if many people know this or not but the prize pool in JP is low because of the Government restrictions on esports. It hasnt been long Esports has been allowed to have prize pool in the first place. It was just considered gambling a while ago , so riot cannot do a massive prize pool for Japan because of those restrictions. If you look at all the VCT JP events since game started you will notice prize pool has always been lower.
