Why does black hair look brown in the sun

I realised that when I was under the sun my hair went from black to fucking orangutan colour. Wtf

Because you're seeing the actual color, if you have dark eyes, the same thing happens. Take a selfie while having sunlight hit your eyes (not directly, obviously), and you'll see them with a lighter color.
