Also, valorant viewerbase is quite a bit younger than CS viewerbase and fanbase.
This means they tend to default to individual streamers, which is why Valorant tends to top CS when it comes to average viewership of just streams.
Many of these kids aren't even aware or interested in the esport.
These are random numbers pulled out of my ass but in my experience, if someone is above average in CS, theres like a 90% chance they follow the pro scene, whereas in Valorant that chance is much much lower.

I'm not a CS fanboy but tbh, average viewers don't really matter. Both games want to be the premier FPS esport, and CS is doing better than valorant, that is a simple fact.
To see how popular a game is, tournament views are more important than average viewers if you ask me, since average viewers is very much influenced by the personalities that are playing, not always the game itself
Before I get downvoted into hell: I much prefer valorant but when it comes to esport popularity, CS is still the top FPS

Cs is just not a game that casual players can easily get into or play. You have to go thru 3rd party to just get decent ranking experience with less cheaters. In some regions world wide its literally dead scene and filled with cheaters because of terrible anti-cheat. Its a better esports because its been there for quite literally 20 years.
