An orgless team that is being supported by fans donation/buying their merch just qualified legends stage of csgo major (think champions in valorant) and i kinda feel like cinderella stories wouldn't happen anymore if valorant starts franchising and kinda makes storyline dull

I keep up with valorant quite abit and I swear to god not a single person in the community wanted franchising. NONE. I cant believe they came up with this model, i'm so upset

Yeah although both systems have their advantages, When it comes to amazing stories like this and the magic of the game, open circuit is infinitely better.

But weekly games in studios with audiences might make it worth

The problem with not franchising is that there's no stability in the system and so all the tier-1 teams will bleed money for a few years and then leave the game when they can no longer afford to. Franchising means more consistent eyeballs on the top teams which help with sponsorship deals etc. and lets be honest- majority of the people just want their teams to play and win they dont care abt the cinderella stories

Franchising has way more disadvantages than benefits

Speak for yourself, I don't want to see the same old washed up bots playing each other all the time.
