this match will have more australian viewers than chinese viewers
valorant fans try not to overreact based off very little information challenge (VERY HARD)
A. its a low stakes showmatch, they probably aren't trying that hard
B. he's playing well, he just hasn't won a gulag yet (watching as of round 16 fracture)
C. gaps liquid
I'm happy SR are getting them, they will be in good hands
Don't get me wrong, 2022 was definitely still a better year for them. But saying that they were "nowhere near" as good in 2023 is massively exaggerating
That group really wanted to defeat those 'Group of Despair' allegations and they did. minus TL again lol
Nowhere near? They went from 3rd in champs 2022 to 5-6th in 2023. Tokyo was only rough for them cause they didn't know wtf they were doing with their roster. Honestly, getting destroyed in Tokyo was actually probably a good thing, it showed them that 6 people rosters dont work and that they need to go into Champs with a set 5, which they did and they look alot better. They almost beat the best team in the world at Champs as well, just choked at the end against Fnatic.
I agree with your opinion on T1. They are picking up great players with good potential, but their plan just looks weird and confusing. I will always stand by the fact that 6 people rosters are a bad idea.
BLEED could have a year quite similar to what happened to PRX this season. They will most likely had a rocky start, they definately won't qualify for Madrid. But I could really easily see this team gel and work together well and they show a decent bit of potential. Although unlikely, I wouldn't count them out for Shanghai and they could be good in the LCQ.
Going from Jingg to anyone else was always going to be a downgrade. But given their situation and who was available, Monyet was a great and possibly their best choice and after some synergy building and playing together, they will most likely be back to top form and ready to compete against the best globally
I have nothing to say for RRQ i need to look into them a bit more
i always forget about tyloo but yeah they have a decent shot at making it
If we are going off of most likely rosters going into next year
Pacific < EMEA < Americas (need to see more of China in the VCT before I make a judgement on them)
Teams in both Pacific and EMEA are cooking with their rosters at the moment, there is a lot of competition growing the middle of the table in both regions. Meanwhile in America, maybe aside from LEV, nothing really excites me. I would have put more faith in G2 but they have slightly disappointed in their friendlies so far (not ridiculously but imo they should have been the team to win the Sen Invitational on paper), hopefully though they can find their groove quickly because I want them to do well.
i was kinda expecting them to at least keep nivera, but they must have better plans in mind
I was kinda thinking something similar with teams like Invictus. Sorry but their current team is shit, but I could see them getting into franchising with their former connections in league and picking up a roster from a team like Trace or RA if they don't make franchising.
The Chinese VCT teams should be announced soon I'd imagine. What teams (or at least rosters of teams) do you think will make franchising in the new region. For me my only guarantees are EDG, BLG and FPX. However I would also love to see teams like RA and Trace also make it through, maybe also RNG.
Man United
A team with so much potential that use to be an absolute juggernaut in the region. Now they still normally perform well winning alot, but always come just short of trophies.
(its been a while since i've watched an epl game or anything so take what i say with a pinch of salt
I did say that at the start, but I kinda just wanted to start a conversation about other locations where it could be cool to have an event.
Don't see it being Beijing at least not now, just cause of the fact that there is also Masters Shanghai next year. However with how successful the game is becoming in China, I could see this happening in 2025/6
Hard agree, would make a great location
For being a sentinels fan, you'd expect him to know what a joke is
Although it is highly rumoured to be South Korea next year, are there any other locations that would make a great VCT event, even if it wasn't Champions? For me, after watching KC vs The World and watching how cool and hyped the audience was there, I would love to see a Champions/Masters in Paris. I would also love at some point for the VCT to return to Tokyo, still one of my favourite VCT events of all time.
I think the fact that with almost every event is happening overseas (VCT Pacific in korea, Masters Madrid and Shanghai), I think there are travel restrictions that would prevent Jingg from (at least reliably) attending and playing in events. I do think though with Monyet, they are in good hands
I dont think that 0 competition is gonna last much longer though. New faces like Trace and Rare Atom show potential and known teams like Attacking Soul and FPX are making decent advancements. Not to mention after getting yosemite back and having their full roster, BLG look in top form
I am actually quite happy they lost against Trace earlier on. I think it was a good reality check for them. Shows them that they aren't as invincible as they think they are, cause the first couple games their ego and overconfidence was showing quite heavily.
(edit: i think im getting downvoted cause people think im shitting on them. let me clear this up, im an edg fan
Unfortunately the problem is that there isn't a single org in australia that would have either the money or the commitment for the VCT
ahhh a fellow keyboard knob enjoyer, someone who has fine taste
As an Australian who has been wanting to see some Aussie representation in pro valorant for a long time, seeing the Chinese region bloom and offer chances to Australian players like Autumn (FPX), pl1xx (WBG) and Minimise (RNG) is something that is really exciting for me to watch. I really hope this is the start of something good for Australian valorant scene.
For me the ult in many situations, especially clutch situations, is just too high risk for not even reward. The ult can only get a max of one kill and just like a pheonix ult, you are vulnerable. Heck your even more vulnerable in an Iso ult than a Pheonix ult because at least as pheonix you can defend your starting point. Although I think his double-tap and his cascade like wall are pretty good, I don't see him replacing duelists like Jett or Raze in the pro meta.
Assuming this is usd, you could definately get a Wooting 60HE with that kinda money. Not too sure what shipping costs for those are for other people but if your willing to spend a decent chunk, completely worth the money.
I've always thought FUT were an underrated team, they just need to control their aggression, they are always throwing themselves into situations way too quickly and it bites them in the ass a lot.
His criticism was extremely constructed. This is his job. He literally is a professional analyst and caster for the VCT.
Also, as if he cares about becoming public enemy #1, he literally angered an entire country at the start of the year with the exact same level of constructed criticism. Fans just don't like being told their fave players aren't the best in the world ig
Both teams have serious upset potential but I think atom has just a little bit more.
I think everyone is a bit of a sentinels fan, just a nostalgia thing ig
Ehhhh I disagree. Depending on how hard they are gonna be practicing, I fear that it could cause burnout way too early in the season. I have also learnt from my mistakes time and time again, I am not putting any expectation on Sentinels until I've seen them play an official match or two together.
I mean I wouldn't be talking so early, they did lose mini
Knowing that in about 2 years that Riot will have to evaluate all the partnered teams and decide who stays and who goes, if this contract jail stuff is true with EG and they really aren't letting their players go because they want them to stay on with pay cuts, along with all this other stuff is slowly coming out about them, I could see Riot not wanting to give them another contract. Even despite the fact that they won champions, Riot have proven that just because you've had a good performance, it doesn't guarantee you a spot in franchising (e.g teams like The Guard, Xerxia and EMEA FPX not being picked up for the first season of franchising, though I might be wrong about FPX because I dont quite remember whether they planned the Chinese region swap before or after franchising EDIT: How the hell did I also forget about Optic). Not to mention they dropped G2 last minute at the start of last season because of the Tate incident, so Riot is also not scared to drop teams if they have bad PR or are just doing some questionable moves.
I hate this mentality that streamers are the ones at fault because they don't have delay. Streamers shouldn't have to sacrifice quality and live interaction in order to stop being cheated against by a stream sniper and a man who hasn't been able to go pro in 2 games because he is a dick.
From what I've seen by moist and dsg in valorant and also other games, they tend to actually cater pretty well towards their players so I would genuinely love to see either of them or both take the players from the Guard. However due to experience and a short history to go off of, I think its unlikely we will see them take the spot. It will most likely go to an org with experience and a long history in esports.
Not opposed to the idea at all, would love it, its just unlikely
For me the most likely options are rather G2 or Optic. Faze just dropped out of Valorant and with how their financial situation is right now, I doubt they would want to return, most likely going to persue other options in other games. TSM I have 0 clue, they could but I think their attention rn is on their new CS roster so they are still an option but I think unlikely. G2 already were technically approved for franchising and only fucked themselves up with the CEO/Tate incident, but now that they have a new CEO and the fact that they just nuked their roster in challengers, I think they are definitely the most likely. Optic dont have a pre-existing challengers roster atm so they are also likely, I just don't know whether they are ready to rejoin valorant just yet though.
Guard (management) L for not meeting deadlines and signing contracts or whatever it was,
Riot/VCT L for not giving the players an alternative to still play in VCT or not even giving M80 the slot.
BM is respectable when you've earnt it. Sure they are playing well NOW, but EG are only at both of these events because of luck. If it weren't for MIBR beating 100T, this whole climb of theirs wouldn't exist. They've had a good presence at both Tokyo and LA, but they just pretend like the rest of the season didn't exist. I really hope Loud win cause my god I want to see every member of EG humbled ridiculously bad.
My brain realistically says Demon1, but every other part of me says something. God I fucking hate EG, full of ego thinking they are the shit, when they were in crisis mode only a few months ago and are only at both Tokyo and LA thanks to MIBR. I really hope Loud fucking destroy them in the lower bracket, I don't want to see EG even step foot on that grand final stage.
Just had to get that off my chest
The entire team just looks tired, I don't think any of them are bad or in need of replacing. There are two problems with being the best team in the world.
This team is still one of (if not) the best in the world. I can't see a single player being reasonably replaced/taken out of this team. It might just be copium cause im an FNC fan, but this team is still the best we have ever seen and will be back in top form after the break.
Although Loud have bounced back a decent bit from Tokyo, there is still some slop that I think FNC can pick up on and abuse. I also still fear that the internal issues in the team are gonna affect the Loud players mentality. They beat a shockingly underperforming Liquid and a decent looking Navi, but I still think there is more for them to do. FNC 2 - 0 LOUD
