S1mon had played for EDG since June of 2024, when he replaced Haodong in the starting lineup. That roster change was the catalyst for EDG turning their season around. After dominating in the regional circuit, the Chinese powerhouse disappointed with early exits at both Masters Events. EDG went 5-1 with S1Mon in the starting lineup, and later in the year was crowned champions of the world at Champions Seoul.

Since then, EDG has undergone a roster overhaul, benching S1Mon two matches into its China Stage 1 campaign.

While S1Mon was an Initiator player for most of his career, the 2025 season began with a drastic change to the game of Valorant: Tejo. EDG, like many teams around the world, moved quickly to add the disruptive Initiator to their agent pool. With S1Mon and in-game leader nobody both being Initiator players, both players tried their hand at the agent. Early on during Kickoff, EDG settled into nobody on the Tejo role, while S1Mon stuck with Breach and KAY/O for a majority of the event.

After winning Kickoff, EDG entered the playoffs of Masters Bangkok, where they finished third. EDG continued to experiment with Tejo following Bangkok. They played two games to open Stage 1, going 1-1, with the same double-Initiator approach with nobody on Tejo. They benched S1Mon shortly after, promoting academy player Jieni7 . He joined to replace S1Mon's Initiator role, but also filled as a Duelist alongside ZmjjKK in double Duelist comps.

Since then, Tejo was heavily nerfed, EDG missed out on Masters Toronto, benched Jieni7 for new signing zjc to start Stage 2, and then benched zjc for Jieni7 after just two games played in VCT.
