HOW TO FIX DUELISTS

I personally don't understand why it's so hard to understand for Riot. This game will always favor duelists with a get-out-of-jail-free card with mobility. First, it was Jett, then Chamber (he was a duelist in his prime), and now Raze.

Look at Iso, Reyna (kinda niche, she can get out free but her kit is selfish), Yoru, Neon or Phoenix. None of them have the freedom of the previously stated duelists. If you're going to fix every duelist, the only way is to make mobility their main role difference.

Initiators have flashes, controllers have smokes, sentinels have traps and mollies. Duelists should have mobility.

Heroes like Iso, Neon, Phoenix don't have bad kits, they're just missing mobility.

For example:
Iso can enter his pocket dimension for a short time and get out.
Phoenix can erupt into flames and be invulnerable for a few seconds (cant shoot back)
Yoru has no timer on TP

Idk just my 2 cents, lmk what you think if you read allat

The only thing yoru needs is a faster tp animation time somewhat similar to chamber’s tp time and he is good. Overall there are 2 category of duelists:

  1. Duelists with flashes
  2. Entry/Escape duelists

The only one who doesn’t belong in any of those categories is Iso cause wtf even is he

I don’t think neon misses any mobility, Phoenix as i said is another category of duelists and yeah Iso has almost 0 mobility

also you definitely put it better, the word I was looking for was entry/escape not mobility. Neon does have mobility, just no escape.

and yet the duelists with flashes have next to no playtime. Reyna is basically a smurf hero and has no value in ranked/pro play. You saw how Phoenix turned out in pro play. I think Entry/Escape should be the norm for duelists. This is purely in a ranked environment. Duelist is the hardest role to play with no team chemistry. 99% of the time you can't depend on your team for flashes, comms unless you're in a higher rank. If they could give duelists more freedom to play risky, it would be better.

I actually think that entry/escape factor of duelists is viable mostly only for pro play not for ranked cause as you mentioned there are little to no comms in competitive. So being an entry duelist when your team does not set you up and do not follow you onto the site is pretty fucked. And the worst part is that it happens 90% of the time

True. I'm partly yapping because I'm not even a duelist main, I usually play initiator/controller. I think the reason why Jett and Raze are so high up is because of their ability to entry without too much support.

With Jett you can dash into a smoke and be a distraction while your team streams in. With Raze, her satchels give so much mobility that you can get into a position that isn't expected.

With the rest of the duelists, you have to just walk in with your teammates and hope their util usage is good.

So basically ending flashing duelist and having only entry duelist will just make people not wanting to play duelist ? I see that a winwin situation

I think at that point the only people playing duelist would be people actually good with mobility/entrying so it really would weed out the instalock bums I run into. So yes, win-win.

I’m sure it won’t work out like this. e.g jett is the best agent to op so her pickrate will be high nonetheless.

Yes but if the rest of the duelists also have the ability to op and exit, then the rest of the duelists can get higher pick rates too. Any rank people just want to get kills and live.

problem is is that imo it wouldnt be that fun anymore. plus, its not like those agents arent fun or good in ranked play, but of course at the highest level you will not really see them as much. i think we need to see buffs in those non-mobility agents and maps tweaked to perhaps make them slightly more usable, e.g. jett excels on breeze cos of long range, so maps like icebox have higher than usual reyna picks, mainly because of the layout of A. I dont think mobility will be the solution that valorant AS A WHOLE needs

Don't ever disrespect my japanese twink like that, yoru is a great secondary duel and on some maps like breeze and icebox he has the strongest get out of jail free cards. Tping out of tunnel after pushing on defence or tping back into main on A and B are great on breeze. On icebox he can push jail get one and tp away, same with deep b main and basically every spot on the map (I watched a derke yoru vod on icebox and have only lost 1 game since (people trolled the comp after I locked yoru and some guy went triple negative, still topfragged easily and almost won us the game))

Neon also isn't that bad, the learning curve is just very steep. Look at Minibok tho.

Iso, phoenix and reyna kinda blow though ngl
