Not sure actually, but my guess is PRX would go through in the event of a tie. PRX have the better regular season record, map differential, and round differential, in addition to winning the regular season head-to-head matchup. I agree though with your later comment, you would think winning a Masters event should supersede all the regular season stuff.

But same, I doubt any of this actually happens, but the fact that it's a possibility is wild not gonna lie

It's crazy that this year's format is so bad that there is a possibility (although extremely unlikely) where Gen.G don't make Champions though.

VLR doesn't have a live update of the points, so these numbers are more accurate.

Currently, Gen.G have 15 points and PRX have 14. So the following would have to happen for GEN to NOT make champs despite winning Kickoff, placing 2nd at Madrid, and winning Shanghai:

  1. PRX win against ZETA.
  2. GEN lose to TS.
  3. This puts PRX in the double elim part of the bracket and GEN in the single elim part of the bracket. Because PRX beat ZETA and secure a top 2 seed, they get 2 points (1 for ZETA win + 1 for the playoff bye).
  4. GEN lose the single elimination game (possible since they randomly lost to T1 in the Shanghai qualifiers).
  5. PRX go out of the playoffs 0-2 in series (the least likely scenario, but the chances of it happening aren't zero).

This leaves PRX with 16 points, compared to GEN's 15 points, meaning PRX would be the 4th team to qualify for Champs.
