valorant scene is overhyped
csgo is better
people will move on to a new game already in 5 years
they're having trouble balancing the current roster, refuse to nerf agents like jett and sova, what do you think happens once there are 70 agents?
Well, you can say publishers drive it to some degree, but the game itself has to be interesting enough that people will watch.
Look at Overwatch and how much money they poured into it and still flopped hard. The Riot model of franchising teams and having control over their own scene seems to be working, but I don't think it will for another 10 years. That philosophy in itself is pretty much opposite of why people watch competitive games, who will be the audience that will still watch 10 years from now.
Look at CS and how little Valve has done and yet it's still one of the biggest eSports scene through last 20 years.
only CS will live in 10 years
Dota fans are getting too old and don't appeal to new people
Valorant/LoL fans are between 10-20 years and grow out of it, then a new game will come out in a few years where the new 10-20 year olds are hopping to
your only take away is lineups after I explained how every aspect of the game is dumbed down? lol
line ups increase the skill ceiling of the game, like it or not
and its not just line ups, its how you can counter those line ups that add the actual depth
in CS you can body block a lineup, you can know where someone is by where they thrown a nade, and mollies actually get cancelled by smokes
if you still don't get how much better that is than what is currently in valorant, then its pointless explaining it to you because you don't even understand basic game mechanics to appreciate ones that have depth vs. ones that dont
valorant: can't block smokes, smokes have no indicator of where its thrown from, can't cancel mollies. Some of these are devs catering to casuals, some of these are limitations of the game engine, and some are just pure oversight from a balnace/design perspective. One things for sure though, they detract from the game's depth at the end of the day.
yeah if you think there aren't must pick agents then you haven't been paying attention to pro games or play at a high level :/
it's unique to eyes of casuals i guess
the meta in the game is really boring. At the top level (or even decent MM level) there are must pick agents for maps (i.e. viper on breeze, icebox, sova/skye on same maps) that makes it so the game has the depth of a puddle
moreover, it's same way to approach every map once you've played it a while. Maps are much lower quality than CSGO, Ascent is the only decent map
and by your definition Minecraft and Fortnite is better than every game, it's bigger and more successful right? lol
you need better education sir
what makes you think utilities in valorant are hard tho?
pretty much every utility in the game is a dumbed down version of csgo's mollies, smoke, flash, grenades.
molly? non-extinguishable mollies
smoke? point and click smokes that's a sphere and hallow center
flash? point and click, left and right, a bird, very high skill
grenades? nothing to say about it, just chuck it?
pretty much every agent only has to worry about 1-2 abilities, while csgo everyone has 4 grenades, can pick up more, needs line ups, do I need to add more?
pretty much in every single way valorant's a dumbed down version of csgo, mechanics, utilities, maps, every way
but csgo is the better game, objectively
i play Valorant because CSGO eventually gets boring, doesn't mean it's a better game tho
pretty sure most pros are just planning on making the streamer transition playing Valorant rather than actually compete to be the best
Val is not really a competitor's game, it has lower skill ceiling and tons of in game mechanics that caters to casuals
