they were using omen blind + deadlock trap with yoru flash and tp (along with all the fade util), that's enough utility to basically guarantee the kill. the issue is that they kept mistiming it with ethan tping after the effect of the utility already ran out (also I do recall a round where they used clove decay when pushing A site but the lineup wasn't right and it missed lmfao)

yeah I don't think that comp is viable long term but it was solid enough to be used once to throw off a team (they didn't manage to play to its strengths though)

I feel like while NRG went 0-4, all of the maps were winnable if they didn't make some really obvious/avoidable mistakes. maybe the only map I thought the firepower was genuinely their main issue was lotus against sen. the rest they just kept making clear mistakes, for example on haven against g2 they let leaf walk into garage every round and they somehow still kept getting caught off guard by him (partially a comp issue, but he wasn't even catching some insane unavoidable timing).

chet got a lot of hate for the haven comp, but I thought it looked promising. on another day, victor doesn't get first blooded like 3 times on defense and they win one or two more rounds. but even ignoring that, a lot of their utility timings on both attack and defense were a second or two off from each other which is something that inevitably improves with more practice (the set ups themselves were good imo, which chet likely came up with). FNS also had a horrible performance even by his standards.

a more general issue I have with the team is that they're too "disciplined", they have a game plan and they stick strictly to it with none of them trying to make any plays even though they have a very good opportunity to do so. for example I feel like TH and gen.g have good game plans but their members aren't scared to do their own thing sometimes, meanwhile NRG play exactly by their protocols and it's impossible for the protocols to work 100% of the time (especially not in this meta)

sunset and icebox are the worst and it isn't close

"playing a role he was not comfortable on" they were most definitely doing very good in scrims with demon1 on duelist but they couldn't translate it into actual games, besides we saw what happened when they tried victor raze and demon1 brim on bind. saying he has never done it before doesn't help much, we've seen plenty of players successfully transition into other roles in the middle of the season. also if demon1 was uncomfortable on the raze he can just say so? I doubt chet would keep him on a role he says he's uncomfortable on.

it's wild how many complains there were about pearl b site yet there's far less about sunset despite it being MUCH worse. the site is impossible to hold for both defenders and attackers, there's no need to even "retake" since the attackers play 5 B main the majority of the time and spam. there is little to no skill or variety involved whatsoever in pro play. at least on pearl we'd see some innovation with site retakes, ult usages, flanks and taking space early and it was uncommon for ALL 5 players on the team to play b main. meanwhile on sunset that's a common sight. another thing is that mid on pearl actually received some usage when hitting b site, meanwhile sunset is just 5 run down b main

even in ranked the site is horrible, unless you have a cypher and the enemy team has nothing to break trips then the site is impossible to hold (though I will admit its issues aren't as pronounced in ranked since people are very unlikely to play 5 main)
