Idk if I'd go so far as preposterous. Sure the format in 2025 was shit and the format in 2026 is only a little better but any team that wins is going to see that as a huge victory. Money isn't "everything" but it is the most important thing to any org.

Isnt the prize pool huge? Pretty sure there are a lot of teams that dont have a shot at Champs and if you're one of the 32 teams not going this is the most important event of the year no?

I am the happiest I've ever been with the teams that are going. I am just disappointed that even though its a masters the level of gameplay will be starting at group stage again. We could have drawn teams at random to attend and had nearly the same likelihood of a good tournament.

What is the point of stage 1? They just invited the best teams from a different meta. Why not wait until after london to make a change? Instead we're just reducing the level of gameplay back to group stage in a masters tournament.
