I mean keeping a lower engine version of the game when a new one is out is dumb so yeah the way they're saying its a new game is not true because its all the same except smokes. Think of it as valo getting a new agent that's it.
The way valve handles the game, it wouldn't last more than a year tbh. You see the reaction of people when there's less new content. Imagine CS being the way and releasing in 2022/2023. People would play for hype and then we would see a "dead game - CS2" video on YT.
Engine update is not changing anything in the game. The graphics are now as comparable to 2015-16 and the only new thing is smoke pathway. Its still the same game. Counter Strike 2 would make sense if they changed character models and guns and added new never seen before maps and also more ways to play the game itself, for example breakable environment.
As of now its nothing but a big update.

IGL has been Laz and now SugarZ3ro. Even when crow doesn't IGL he has such low impact and its clear that has been holding ZETA back. Even someone like Vici with switched roles to initiator would do better than crow

The game seems to have updated its graphics from 2011 to 2015-16 graphics, the new smoke mechanic is good and its bright and contrasty af. What's the point of calling it Counter Strike 2 like they're changing a lot of things to make the game different than CSGO?

I like watching Valo because changing metas always make the game unique and the comp a team will bring is also quite interesting. CS for me has been a game I only played with friends and while its fun I just enjoy valo more
