correct me if i’m wrong but isn’t this kind of good for SEA? ofc not all regions get a spot into ascension anymore but doesent this mean there’s more spots for top SEA teams to make it?
for example, let’s say the best region is indonesia and have 3 teams better than all the other teams in the region. with the previous ascension rules, only 1 can come out of indonesia so the other 2 wasted their year bc the region is too strong w strong competitors. with this new change, all 3 of these indonesian teams can potentially make it to ascension as long as they win against the other regions
it’s fair for all the regions since they all still have a chance at ascension, but only the best of the best is coming out of SEA. it’s true that they lose out on 2 spots if it’s given to korea/japan but for viewerships and for sustainability, i think it’s a great change they made
i do agree that the biggest concern is OCE and SA tho but i think it’s a good start
