press F for beyond the summit, đ gonna miss their production style
put some respect on current turtle troop (and former nv) mummay for helping lay the foundation for that team though
my man got the double disrespect on this post đ
mint chocolate chip is his favorite flavor???? hellll nahhhhh that's an L
after all the pain of being a drx fan for the past couple years....
beautiful run drx. all the love to you â€
tbf even if they won iceland, look at OP's second point. fpx aren't immune to this, the losses they're taking in champions right now probably would've just happened in copenhagen instead
it has been
0
days since a sen post on vlr
oh wait good call
mindfreak is fucking insane, sadly I forget about him a lot bc of the crazy duo of f0rsaken and jinggg on that team
international LANs have brought some amazing controller players into the spotlight
marved during his time on optic has solidified him as most likely the best controller itw
mako's crazy consistency and fragging on an already stacked drx team
sscary providing us with some of the most hype plays in previous masters events
sugarz3ro showing us that astra is still a great pick, especially in the hands of an insane player like him
and now melser with his insane clutches
as a fill-smoke player in the pits of ranked, watching these performances gets me so hyped up, love to see it
great scrimbux, community has high hopes for them, but will underperform compared to those high expectations.
on that note, iâm saying it now: just like NV/optic after first strike, ghost gaming will be a consistent t1 team in NA. I BELIEVE IN NISMO SUPREMACY, THEYRE GOING TO CHAMPIONS
actually enjoyed reading, then scrolled down and realized i'd get downvoted for saying so
so: haha too long didn't read happy for you or sad that it happened nerd nerd nerd no one cares lul
i just want to see fpx at LAN đđđ
donât care if heâs right or wrong, the problem is itâs tone deaf and misleading
the question was also misleading to begin with. valorant didnât âdecimateâ the NA scene, it was a byproduct of the scene already being destroyed by absolutely no support. i guess you can say heâs right by saying itâs âeasy moneyâ because any money is easy money compared to the shitshow it is to try and climb into an actual csgo career in NA.
also a note on âwork ethicâ: itâs also misleading to think that the amount of work and grind to get into a salaried team in csgo now is the same as back when twistzz was coming up. his take on the NA scene and their work ethic is hard to listen to, when his rise to tier 1 could almost certainly never be replicated in NA today.
heâs right, the NA scene is âabysmalâ and you might be able to argue that some people moved for money (canât assume that for everyone though). but framing it as if itâs just because NA players have a weak mental and bad work ethic is incredibly misinformed, tone deaf, and actually insulting to a lot of the players whoâve suffered from the lack of support in the NA csgo scene.
everyone whoâs saying âlol youâre madâ or âwow really hit a nerve for val pro players lmaoâ⊠yes. they have a right to be upset that theyâre being portrayed like this when theyâve spent their lives trying to make it in a scene that doesnât care about them.
also you've proved my point in that if someone holds an opposing opinion, they're immediately branded a delusional sentinels fan. thanks bro
you think my lord and savior is tenz and shazham? nah bro, i'm even more delusional. my lord and savior is Rb.
fear me and my delusions.
and who the fuck subs on twitch? pretty sure the only ones who sub to streamers are high schoolers using their parents amazon prime account lmao
i'm defending humanity from dumbasses on the internet. i've realized it's a lost cause, but not gonna stop trying.
and you've literally proved my point, you're pretty much calling me a delusional sentinels fan because i don't agree with your takes LOL call me a delusional DRX fan, supporting them even though they've been proving to me they'll always underperform in high stakes high pressure matches.
translation: ooga booga i can't think for myself so i have other people think for me
can't you just say "shahzam prob sucks at structuring their scrims/practice, maybe they need to prac better"?
i fail to see how the IGL streaming has anything to do with it, and you've given me no logic to work off of.
did i ever say that i think they're gonna win anything? if anything, i think they'll prob just remain in the top 8 somewhere in NA. if they announce a coach, maybe i'll get some hope that they can regain form, but i doubt anyone in the world thinks sen is gonna win a regional event, let alone an internation LAN, anytime soon. straw man fallacy.
dude, seriously. have you not seen the bajillion shahzam threads for the past couple days? literally everyone and their mom cares. if anything, i don't give a shit about sentinels, but i care that so many people seem so FUCKING BRAINDEAD.
e x a c t l y
see this is absolutely fine. i am a-ok with the opinion that they can't keep up with the changing meta, or their playstyle is stale and not suited for current valorant, or even that they're washed and can't hit shots anymore. but i'm not ok with people somehow dragging streaming into all of this to somehow validate that a player does not care.
a couple of other dumbass takes:
tsm streamer team
same shit different team i guess. glad to see it kinda faded away now that tsm have actually qualified, but it'll probably pop up again if tsm fail to get out of their group. remember when they got into the main event qualifier for masters berlin and dropped out in 7th-8th place? more of the same.
"sentinels never wanted a coach, and now they complain about not being able to get one? cry more"
actually just straight up false. i'm all for shitting on sentinels for not being able to find a coach for forever, but sentinels have spoken out about actively looking for a coach from the beginning of 2021. they were even looking to get sean gares as a coach during the ignition series, if y'all even remember that from 2020. back then though, sean gares was looking more towards content creation and casting.
didn't know you could read, congrats on reading the word "no"
no. people are treating this like it's the gospel truth or just factual, and this is the dumbest shit ever.
there's practice time, and there's free time. just because a player is streaming does not mean he's cutting into practice time, if anything, he's most likely using his free time. do you really think a player would tell their IGL, "hey bud, imma skip out on this scrim because i want to stream and make money"? amount of time streaming does NOT give you any information at all about their practice time (unless they're streaming like 10+ hours every day or some shit, but who does that? even with this forum going crazy about shahzam streams, i've made sure to get my info straight and scroll through his twitch vods. looks like he's been streaming ~7 hours a day or something for the past couple months).
"they don't practice", "they don't even care about pro play anymore", "no competitive drive"... yeah i see y'all out there. pumping out these narratives with no shred of evidence. and if you do have evidence, it's probably an out-of-context clip or a quote from someone trolling that you're taking seriously. this isn't even sentinels-centric, it's pervasive in this community.
tl;dr i'll say this until the end of time: stop making assumptions about shit you have no idea about, and will most likely never know about.
.
ps: maybe they actually don't practice, and they actually don't care about pro play, and they actually don't have a competitive drive anymore. but you know what? i don't go around spouting my guesses like i've got the inside scoop and it's 100% factual and everyone who disagrees is just a delusional sentinels fan. i'm all for having your opinions and if you think that they don't practice and don't care, that's fine. just stop spamming it in the forums like it's breaking news or something.
that's literally fake news. shahz + sentinels have spoken out about actively looking for a coach from the beginning of LAST YEAR. they were even looking to get sean gares as a coach during the fucking IGNITION SERIES. remember? 2020?
i'm all for you shitting on shahz + sentinels for not being able to find a coach in that long of a time span, or for maybe even managing the team super poorly, or their playstyle, or whatever. it makes sense to question and criticize a team with so much hype and proven talent when they flop and when they're unable to obtain a necessary piece to their team (because yes, i agree with most people when they say that coaches are almost a necessity at this point). but stop pumping out false narratives.
wait hold up they only got POISED and supamen though, and that's enough? feels kinda wack
oh shit that actually makes a lot of sense LMAO thanks dude
EDIT: answered and closed, thanks Giannero

title (why are FaZe the team to replace rise as the eighth team to skip to ro32)
i'm definitely missing something here, because FaZe finished 17-24th in both open qualifiers for stage 1. they also don't even have the same core (LarryBanks, flyuh, and ShoT_UP have been replaced). meanwhile, a team like Akrew placed 5-6th and 7-8th in the open quals, and have retained 3 of their 5 players from stage 1 (gucc107, Neon, Paincakes). the list goes on: TSM, T1, Gen.G, Complexity, SoaR... all of these teams placed equally or even better than FaZe. if you include teams that have had roster overhauls, then we can include even more teams that did equally well or better than FaZe, like Cosmic Divide, Soniqs, former Andbox (now NYFU), and ZMM.B.
so, all that word vomit is to ask: can someone explain how it was decided that FaZe would get a bye? i couldn't find anything on official riot websites.
just saw the results (internet explorer moment lmao), but honestly it wouldnât feel right for liquid to earn more vct points than fpx. the only reason liquid were here was because of fpxâs inability to participate, and long term for this yearâs emea vct standings and for champions, it couldâve brought up questions on competitive integrity.
(while youâre here, remember that âiâm just baitingâ is not a good excuse to be an asshole đ awesome thanks have a good day)
just so that some pickâems survive. all three remaining perfect pickâems have optic beating xerxia đ
1) Do they deserve one? No. Does it make sense form them to have one for the sake of improving one of the largest scenes in Valorant? Yes.
2) No. Anyone can see the steady and amazing improvements they made throughout the year. They played amazing, and thatâs it. Honestly, despite how wack the situation with Onur was, you can see how his departure has affected their team. I view their run at Champs like Sentinels at Iceland last year: They were absolutely amazing, but it was their peak.
3) It proves that the teams in Brazil are improving. A lot of people discounting this win are ignoring the fact that NiP looked SO much better here than in their region against LOUD. Their improvements (Iâm assuming from just scrimming internationally) have been pretty great to see. If youâre asking if NiP have proven their better than EMEA top representatives, then Iâd probably say no with an asterisks of *but they havenât proven their NOT better than EMEA top representatives đ
4) My NA pride is rearing itâs head, but I think NA and APAC are pretty equal right now. XERXIA is another team I think has upped their game dramatically from their regional performance, and that game against OPTIC was a showcase of their improvements in just a few weeks. I think the overall average strength of NAâs teams is better, but you could certainly argue that APACâs top teams trump NAâs at the moment.
5) Didnât watch the interview everyoneâs talking about, so canât say. Donât really care either, sorry đ
huge for the korean scene, competition = opportunities for improvement
as a legitimate question though, could i get a source on how people know sentinels donât practice a lot? iâve seen this fact get thrown around a million times on vlr but i donât know where it came from. iâm a bit out of the loop here lmao
step 1: stay on shahzamâs stream at all times
step 2: wait for him to say anything remotely related to scrims and practice
step 3: post on vlr and clown him
step 4: repeat
jesus christ yâall
i get it, i honestly do, as to why people dislike shahzam and sentinels. but a lot of you guys have massive hate boners for this dude, and some forum threads are just circlejerking and echo chambering hate.
oops i was under the impression that her heal bar goes down at the same rate even if sheâs healing multiple people
i do know for sure that she can heal much more than 100hp added up across different teammates though, which is still insane
yeah iâve just found it sorta strange that after champions, in both the tier 2 scene in NA late last year as well as the VCT qualifiers worldwide this year, skye isnât played as much, yet there havenât really been any agent balance tweaks at all for a while.
side note: i still think skye flashes are OP haha she just canât use them for herself as well â but as a supportive flash for a teammate, i think itâs crazy how she can control when it pops AND the time between choosing to pop it and the flash actually popping is essentially instantaneous.
honestly, i think the state of the initiators is at a great place right now; each one has a home on at least one map and are being mixed and matched everywhere. i just think that on paper skye seems to be the most versatile and powerful, yet sheâs not as prevalent anymore.
she has potentially 5 flashes in a round that she can pop anywhere, and there isnât even a windup cue when you pop the flash (like a breach or kay/o flash, where thereâs a visual or audio cue for a split second before it pops). she can also potentially heal ~400 hp a round (obviously a special case, but her heal is very arguably more powerful than sage). she also basically has a faster sova drone with astigmatism that can concuss and damage.
she used to be an instalock on most maps just a few months ago. what changed?
So basically NA won masters berlin
100T was the only team that beat gambit
i'm converted, SEA is the best region in the universe
i am no longer rooting for any specific team -- let at least one pickem survive!
just realized that you could make a solid argument that gambit, the masters berlin winners, are currently looking the worst out of all four emea representatives at champions...
i would've said SEN vs TL rematch before today but....... lmao rip
imo VKS vs TL or an NA team vs TL
