You'll notice a slight upgrade, not nearly as significant as 60hz -> 144hz. If your PC can run games at/around 240fps then I'd recommended the upgrade. I wouldn't say it's a luxury, 240hz is the standard nowadays. Anything beyond 240hz I'd say is a luxury.
why are clove and reyna always so dominant in ranked no matter how much they get buffed or nerfed
I don't think SEN are playing in it, iirc cortezia said RBHG was the last off season event
teams already practice multiple looks per map, this isn’t new territory. pros aren’t “unfamiliar” with their own utility because they scrim nonstop. changing a few timings or protocols doesn’t suddenly make everyone play worse, it just exposes which teams only function on one comfort comp.
yes Mr. Fneggs 😔
What isn't? the phone verification?
Changes didn't do anything, still getting people on alt accounts in high asc/low imm lobbies. So obvious too, weird ass names, less than 100hrs played, lvl 30 accounts. Reporting doesn't do anything either.
you're acting like val has zero redundancy in roles “We only have two recon agents” ignores that Fade, Skye, KAY/O, Sova, and Cypher/KJ setups all accomplish different forms of info depending on how you structure your comp. same for controllers, Omen, Astra, Brim, Clove, Harbor, Viper all change HOW you take space, not whether you can LOL. the original Overwatch ban system didn't work because the system was ASS, iirc they would just randomly ban heroes every week with no player input involved (???). the banning system i am referring to for valorant would be most similar to Marvel Rivals' system. if you are unfamiliar, the gist of it is that each team bans 2 characters that are voted upon by the players of the respective teams. each ban is revealed to the other team right as the voting ends so they can choose the 2nd ban accordingly. also saying LoL bans “didn’t work” until Fearless Draft is just wrong. bans always had an impact, which is why teams had target bans, pocket-pick bans, one-trick bans, etc. the game didn’t implode, and the meta didn’t get narrower. Fearless Draft just increased diversity, which ironically supports the idea that ban pressure increases strategic depth, not the opposite.
oh nooo you're going to have to play a map thats been played the same way for 5 years differently!! so scary!!
alr but u cant tell me 2018 fortnite holiday event wasnt peak af
then neither teams could play viper and harbor and you would have to play the map differently???
each team would only get 2 bans so that is very unlikely to happen. both teams would have to coincidentally ban 2 different controllers than the other team. so even if that did somehow happen out of all the probabilities (it would make no sense for a team to ban 2 controllers) then there would still be 2 controllers to play LOL. smoking also isnt the ONLY way to counter an op.
"patches have never lowered the level of play” isn’t the point LOL patches don’t permanently crater competitive quality, they temporarily shift it, and teams adapt. there have been MASSIVE overhauls (Chamber meta, Astra meta, Tejo meta, countless reworks) and pros didn’t suddenly look lost. the idea that bans would “kill creativity” is backwards. bans force teams to develop multiple strong looks instead of turtling behind one comp forever. imo that actually raises the skill ceiling, not lowers it. the DRX yoru example proves the opposite of your point. if one team has a totally unique game changing pick, the counter shouldn’t be “hope your duelists magically learn Yoru in 3 days.” strategic counterplay is part of competition. that’s why games with bans consistently produce more creativity, not because you can’t hide behind one trick. , bans don’t mean “every cool strat gets removed instantly.” teams don’t blindly ban random shit, there r tradeoffs. if you ban yoru, you’re giving up a different comfort ban. no game with bans end up with “everyone runs the same 3 comps”. for example LoL, Dota, R6, OW all have deeper metas than Valorant because bans force flexibility. bans would create more obstacles, which means more innovation, not less.
i think you're massively overstating how fragile comps are. teams already run multiple variations on every map and constantly swap agents due to patches, meta shifts, or opponent prep and their level of play doesn’t fall apart every time they switch from sova to fade or raze to jett. prep isn’t “3 weeks to memorize 1 comp.” it’s systems, protocols, and principles that work across multiple comps. bans don’t mean “3 brand-new comps in one week”, teams would build flex packages just like LoL or R6. those games don’t collapse because a pick changes; they reward depth. agent bans wouldn’t tank the level of play, they’d punish one-dimensional teams and reward teams with real fundamentals and adaptability.
agree to both. holiday events bring such nostalgia, i miss the old 2018 overwatch holiday events </3
i think it would be cool to have to play a game with no recon tho if theyre both banned, it would add more strategic depth
Every agent in the game is viable, if you're "not able to play them" then you need to expand your agent pool LOL
does it not get boring watching the same agents/comps get played? if anything it makes pro play more entertaining and adds more depth to game plans and adjusting strats accordingly (also every controller in the game as a dome smoke)
both map and agent bans would be cool, just like rainbow 6
4 out of 29 isnt that bad LOL u have 25 other choices
yeah that is valid, would be cool as its own gamemode away from competitive though. maybe just in swiftplay or smth
i mean it would only be a max of 4 agents banned each game, plus theres a chance that both teams can ban the same agents
what's wrong with agent bans? i feel like it would add more depth and variety to the game as well as providing good data on which agents need tuning
Idk what you mean by carried, C9 went 3-2 both splits. Hasn't made in international since Reykjavík in 2021.
Immi is the sole reason for the nepotism. Bro only gets people from the V1 roster. Vanity, Penny, Zellsis, Wippie all from Version1. F it V1c even has 'V1' in his name.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to practice with who they’re planning to sign for the real season?
Depends on who they replace JonahP with, losing a guy like him usually doesn't go well
