Just watched the VOD.

This loss against KRU is actually good for SEN, as it (hopefully) makes them realize the need to change their Haven, Lotus, and Icebox comps, along with reconsidering the Fracture perma-ban. The past two matches (against 100T and KRU) have clearly shown that SEN has a weak map pool so far and struggles to adapt to the meta at a fast pace.

I believe johnqt is excellent at calling on Lotus, but they need to leverage the synergy between Breach and Tejo. They didn’t show on Lotus, and they were also overwhelmed by utility. As for Icebox, it was somewhat expected that they would lose — not because of a lack of belief in the team, but due to the comp they ran. It was their old comp, with new roles and agents for johnqt and N4RRATE, and it's clearly readable. That’s why it’s good they played Icebox this early; it gives them a chance to fix their mistakes and hopefully reconsider their comp. On Haven, they’ve played this comp twice now, and it’s clearly not working for them in official matches.

Kap using two timeouts in the first half of Lotus was quite a bad decision. The thing with KRU is that once they build momentum, they just run at you (just like what happened in KRU vs NRG) — and it really showed in the entire second half. It’s kinda sad to see because I genuinely believe that if SEN had a timeout available in the second half, the outcome on Lotus might have favored SEN, as they are good at converting the rounds after Kap's timeout.

You can't say Sacy to n4rrate since Sacy chose to retire, and n4rrate is one of the best pickups in initiator roles in the market.

I have a gut feeling that SEN might lose this match. I think they're still working on their chemistry issue. And 100T seems more confident and polished heading to Stage 1.

SEN don’t need to change the roster—this is the best lineup they can have this year. What they need is to find a new formula. They’ve been trying to implement the same approach as last year, which clearly worked since most of the team members were already experienced and high-caliber players—even though it was johnqt’s first year in T1.

Now, they have young and inexperienced players with clear potential to become high-caliber players in the coming seasons, but they also need to find their own identity. The new players, especially N4RRATE, should be given the time and comfort to adjust, as he has been adapting to the team’s changes in agents and roles.

If you watch some SEN videos, N4RRATE is a team player—passionate and eager to win—but he needs to work on his mental game. As for bang, his main issue seems to be confidence. He has been very vocal in trying to make plays for the team, especially in post-plant scenarios—something I don’t recall him doing much in 100T.

They’ve been growing and improving with every match, but as I said, they need a new formula and must create their own identity, as the 2024 approach is clearly not working with this roster.
