Just watched the VOD.
This loss against KRU is actually good for SEN, as it (hopefully) makes them realize the need to change their Haven, Lotus, and Icebox comps, along with reconsidering the Fracture perma-ban. The past two matches (against 100T and KRU) have clearly shown that SEN has a weak map pool so far and struggles to adapt to the meta at a fast pace.
I believe johnqt is excellent at calling on Lotus, but they need to leverage the synergy between Breach and Tejo. They didn’t show on Lotus, and they were also overwhelmed by utility. As for Icebox, it was somewhat expected that they would lose — not because of a lack of belief in the team, but due to the comp they ran. It was their old comp, with new roles and agents for johnqt and N4RRATE, and it's clearly readable. That’s why it’s good they played Icebox this early; it gives them a chance to fix their mistakes and hopefully reconsider their comp. On Haven, they’ve played this comp twice now, and it’s clearly not working for them in official matches.
Kap using two timeouts in the first half of Lotus was quite a bad decision. The thing with KRU is that once they build momentum, they just run at you (just like what happened in KRU vs NRG) — and it really showed in the entire second half. It’s kinda sad to see because I genuinely believe that if SEN had a timeout available in the second half, the outcome on Lotus might have favored SEN, as they are good at converting the rounds after Kap's timeout.
