Even as Killjoy player I like the kj nerfs. Turret is such a good ability and her ult is really impactful as well. Raze nerfs make no sense to me though. Especially because boombot goes straight meaning that it bounces from wall to wall usually so you can't even clear that much with it compared to like Fade prowler etc.

So NRG is that weak? I guess Americas will just be dominated by BR and LATAM then.

posted about 3 years ago

True. I know its too early and maybe overreaction, but I agree that KOI are kinda griefing with these roles. Like why have Sheydos on sentinel holding flanks when he has proven to be really good flash player and trader. You could play Trexx and Sheydos in either info or flash initiators. Starxo overall just feels bit off on this roster, but as I said its too early.

posted about 3 years ago

Starxo is really flexible actually. He had played Omen, Astra, Raze, Neon, Skye etc. But you are right though that either Sheydos or Trexx would likely have more impact on starxo's role.

Their Haven already looked good in G-Loot. Just have to hope they are ready on other maps as well.

Too early to tell how good his IGLing is, but his fragging is really nice for an IGL.

tbf this is first Valorant tier 1 tournament after months and first franchising era tournament

Fnatic or NaVi

Fnatic's roster is stacked and if they get out of their bracket they will likely win unless NRG starts rolling. Also they won first LoL Worlds so the stars are aligned for first franchising era Valorant title.

And NaVi is mostly their core + cNed who will excel on this meta. FPX were also known for having multiple comps on different maps and changing of playstyles and I think that's going to be really effective here, ofc they lost their ability to anti-start that they are known for.

s0m played well here, but people are comparing him to Marved and those are some big boots to fill.

posted about 3 years ago

True, they just need more time. Also if I'm not wrong they might be the team with least practise time together outside of like Talon who had to replace Patiphan.

yeah the crowd is muted for some reason kinda sucks

EG = NRG

posted about 3 years ago

He always got overshadowed by Leo and Sayf on Guild, but on KOI he has his chance to shine. Good for him he is really good. Actually makes you think how good Guild could have been if they had someone else instead of Russ.

posted about 3 years ago

s0m literally played in VCT so unless you call NA VCT tier 2 then sure

posted about 3 years ago

Maybe because he isn't "tier 1 Jett" yet outside of playing on tier 1 team? He is facing NRG as his first tier 1 game ever and on LAN. KOI didn't sign him in hopes of him dominating in Lock In. Its player you develop for future.

this is literally his first tier 1 game ever

what was trexx doing

posted about 3 years ago

True. But tbf OpTic's Icebox has always been pretty shit. They always relied on Yay putting up numbers on defense, but now without him on Chamber their defense looked pretty bad. Both teams had good attack and shit defense.

posted about 3 years ago

Koldamenta is good IGL, just his fragging is pretty weak and he is pretty inconsistent. He's had games where he bottom frags HARD but also games where he frags decently. He had really low fragging impact on Icebox so unlucky.

posted about 3 years ago

Nah way too early to tell. This team has only had like 40 days of pracc according to Koldamenta and first tier 1 game for someone like Wolfen. You can see his inexperience.

posted about 3 years ago

Koldamenta having really rough game individually. Can't win duels and just keeps running to enemy crosshair.

pretty cool but lacks hype IMO I just liked 2021 style more with short hype videos

Depends. Slightly higher level FaceIt is better than MM but anything below level 5 is such shit show in FaceIt. I started playing FaceIt after almost 2k hours of MM only and I have never seen such shit quality games. Full of people with less than 100h running around no brain. Never had such bad games in MM. But as I said after that it starts getting better and people usually use more mics there.

koldamenta ofc

posted about 3 years ago

They definitely have a chance, but I'm not sure are they ready yet. Pretty much all of their players have been saying how they have only practiced for short time like starxo in Yinsu interview, Trexx in KOI's video, Koldamenta in his tweet so they maybe aren't super confident in themselves with the time they've had.

There's many transgenders who have bought this game and likely enjoyed it, its just loud minority who are missing out

That is what follower counts do. If you talk about skill then you are just wrong.

I don't really like their stage designs. Really hope they just use LCS and LEC studios and don't change them too much for next year. I just think the design of having separate desks for each player just looks odd. It became a thing because of covid, but move on already please. Just my take that Valorant stages look kind of amateurish/scuffed. Also its so dark always and too edgy.

posted about 3 years ago

True, but partly because of that the utily usage/management is insane in pro csgo, same with mind games etc. I do agree that AWP is too good right now, but it also adds to high level gameplay. But how is CSGO movement broken? Its really high skill ceiling.

posted about 3 years ago

I mean its kinda dumb that coaches still can't be on stage with the players. You can't see your players, you can't hear/see/feel the crowd, no one sees you etc.

Again I'm talking about Masters 1 Reykjavik 2022 only mentioning Masters 2 and Champions. Their map pools were shit and that lost them the tournament, that was bad from them. Even tho its impossible to know how other teams and region play on new maps and its all big gamble and depends on regional teams.

And FPX and Fnatic were 100% some of the best in the world what are you talking about? Watch their gameplay and the fact that they placed 1st and 3rd(looked like 2nd best before upper and lower-final) in EMEA. Also FNC literally played in Champions 21 so I don't know what you are talking about and FPX had never made a LAN, but again they went to Masters 2 as their first Valorant LAN and won it while playing groups with a stand-in. Nothing shows that they wouldn't have performed in M1.

Also G2 didn't diff Fnatic by any means. Fnatic looked like shit in their lower final game likely because they knew that Braveaf wouldn't be able to attend and they would have to play with a stand-in, it was braindead from them, they even got rolled by FPX likely because of same reason. While G2 peaked during that time when Meddo and Avova finally decided to play. You can see how massive difference those 2 especially made compared to groups etc. Mediocre/inconsistent players who step up in playoffs, almost happened in LCQ as well. Like I remember thinking how G2 will not perform as well even before the tournament because as I said they peaked in lowers and it was clear as day.

posted about 3 years ago

They weren't bad, but both FPX and Fnatic were likely top 5 teams(fighting for 1st) itw at the time based on their level, especially when back then PRX wasn't considered top level team. Masters 1 was pretty much just OpTic vs LOUD vs DRX vs TheGuard vs G2 from which TheGuard and G2 were expected to choke and underperform. FPX won Masters 2 and Masters 1 meta was arguably even stronger for them. FPX's and Fnatic's map pools were shit in Champs because of Pearl.

Has nothing to do with fluke Masters 1.

Hello India, India fighting!

posted about 3 years ago

That is true, but doesn't take away from the fact that EMEA were only represented by their 3rd and 4th best teams.

posted about 3 years ago

Not really. Imagine NA without OpTic. OpTic had no competition outside of LOUD and DRX. EMEA aka the region with most success until that point missed their 2 best teams (Fnatic were better than G2 before lower-final). It was also really optimal meta for both FPX and Fnatic, G2 didn't even have proper Jett player. Even Liquid the 4th seed EMEA made it to playoffs and finished same as The Guard.
