giving him at least a split is only fair. his jett map against mibr, despite a loss was proof that he can still take over maps and he needs to recapture that as his mental is causing him to whiff easy shots which he never used to. guy needs his confidence back, i have hope but lev may bench him after stage 1 anyway if he cant get back in form right now, which would probably retire him and i dont wanna see that

demon1 plays best on characters that take the least thought, which in this meta would be iso + sentinels (reminds me of someone who just won a tournament) and its frustrating to watch team after team try to turn him into a flex when he just isn't up for it. on 23 eg it was easy for him since he had fearless teammates and bulletproof set plays. i don't think anything would have saved 24 nrg but demon1 should have been playing sentinel considering that they benched him for fns while victor moved to full duelist. he's always been a sentinelese type player, but with the constant role adjustments combined and the fact that his aim/mental is far worse now (yay curse probably since he might be the most scrutinized/hated player rn), this is probably his last year in tier 1 unless he can shake off the nerves

THIS, one platoon video and everyone is suddenly brainwashed into believing demon1 is a brick of a player who cant entry when a shit ton of his best clips from eg are him taking first contact or opening up a site on attack. while his non-jett entry duelist is still poor, he only looked especially horrible on nrg because his supporting util or trades were usually nowhere in sight and the igling and coaching around him was piss poor, ignoring the solo duels he kept losing which i would say were due to rust and mental

yeah just goes to show how having enough synergy and faith in yourselves can turn any team into world beaters which is why eg was so special

as a huge 2023 eg fan, admittedly that roster was maybe the weakest roster player-wise to ever win a trophy in the history of the game and yet the team looked so strong which makes it all the more impressive

posted 3 weeks ago

the eg fluke narrative only exists because the roster literally blew up, and it was due to the org and not even the players wanting to split. if eg sticks together for 2024 they qualify to madrid GUARANTEED since they would only have to play 2 matches against g2 with net and loud with qck, and most likely win madrid while easily surpassing both sen and geng since they had already perfected their own system

with ascent and icebox coming back soon, demon1 can go back to playing jett most maps and kingg can play omen. on the others, kingg plays raze and demon1 goes back to brim/astra, essentially the demon1/jawgemo dynamic on eg. rossy could even take over igl to allow kingg to become a fulltime fragger. thoughts?

demon1 - jett/smokes
kingg - raze/smokes
c0m - sova/viper
rossy - fade/flash init (igl)
tex - sentinel

personally i believe demon1 will appreciate the micromanagement as a lot of his poor performance in kickoff was a result of his looking very unsure of what spots to play and being too distracted/in his own head making him lose easy duels (pearl game vs g2 where he kept dying to leaf for example), and rossy will in turn respect demon1 enough to play his own game. god i hope this lev roster does well, i have a good feeling

demon1 seems to mesh well personality wise with lev since kingg c0m and tex are all very steady, and rossy strikes me as a player who has a winning mindset which his attitude is reflective of (iirc he did a long form interview after being dropped from c9 where he explained he wanted to work things through but the team had made up their minds on him before he had a chance, also former t1 players still speak highly of him)

would making crws an assistant coach be any good? he could translate frosts timeout ideas to the team more smoothly and then talon can get a better fragger in his place (nrg killer cgrs comes to mind)

you made an unprompted thread just to spread hate, is he really still in your head after 18 months?

situation reads similar to a superiority complex high school kid writing a 5000 word essay despite being given a 1000 word limit because he thinks that's what the teacher will want to see. inevitably gets marked down for writing a load of chaff with no actual substance, then goes and complains to his friends about all the work he put in. then is approached by the teacher who marked his essay explaining that he made some good points but hid them in 5000 words of filler and that he should be more succinct, and the kid figures that the teacher must be wrong because clearly more effort = better quality

spent the whole offseason producing relatively clear cut roles to reasonable consistency (big losses to geng aside), just to trash it all at the start of the season. frost seems to value executing his personal vision for a map (which changes on a whim) over winning or getting good results out of his players. all the players on talon are being held back even if i don't believe in governor, ban or crws being part of a winning talon roster.

thailand has pretty much a bottomless pit of talent and instead talon has 2 koreans who typically look to be the worst performers on the team while creating a huge language barrier (coach too)

true i just wanna see him heat up, i trust in the coach since d1 has a much more convincing supporting core this year assuming he continues to play duelist

would like to see demon1 and tex swapping positions on attack, demon1 is a midround playmaker and tex is better suited to taking space on site (tex got lots of value in his lurks but demon1 looks as if he needs to be playing those spots since he still appears shaky in his duels). still not too late for a role change imo
