I don’t think the problem is necessarily that the players/coach are making the changes, after all they’re the ones that should most closely understand what the team needs. I’m afraid the problem runs a bit deeper than that, unfortunately. As a longtime TSM fan over many different games, TSM has historically made so many bad moves and I can’t help but feel like this is just another one.
I can understand bringing in bang with brax being gone as the team needed a change for sure and sometimes a player change is really all you need. Now, even if VCT was a big disappointment, making a change after one tournament with this lineup makes me doubt the thought process that goes along with it. The problem with TSM surely runs deeper than having one or two players come in and change everything all of a sudden. TSM has been underwhelming for so long now that individual changes like this will very hardly bring any significant change to the team.
I tend to think that when your team environment is already a winning one, bringing in a new player with firing power or new ideas is very very good. Unfortunately, TSM isn’t a winning team and these changes won’t make it a winning team. Cultural changes need to happen and that probably has to do with players, coaches, management and, imo, most importantly with whoever’s calling the shots. The problem is that sometimes that person might be your IGL and other times it might be a VP. One is replaceable, the other not really. TSM’s methods aren’t working, I feel like, and these are just patchwork fixes that will eventually go down the same line. I hope I’m wrong, though, since I’m a big TSM fan and I really love the team, especially hazed.
