RRQ was established in 2013, they're one of the oldest and the best esports Org from SEA.

Its founder is the son of a conglomerates in Indonesia (Midplaza Holding & Ayana Hotels) & already been in the esports/gaming ecosystem since 2011.

OneUp (sub-company of Qeon Holding, Parent of RRQ & OneUp) supports the Riot Ecosystem (Valorant & Wild Rift) by organizing Riot official tournaments in Indonesia since day 1.

They are also investing in both Valorant & Wild Rift ecosystem by building a team, their WIld Rift team is one of the best in the world.

They were one of the most notable DOTA 2 teams in SEA, they were the best Point Blank team in the world (FPS game that was popular in ID,TH,RU,BR).

They've been investing in multiple countries (ID-TH-PH-BR-MY), They are proven in Franchising (MLBB), and They have one biggest fanbase in Asia.

They're consistently on the Top 10 most views team in the past 2 years, only from Competitive match, without TWITCH CREATORS. If you count their streamers view hours then ULALA they will be on that Top 3 or Top 5.

They might be a bit unknown on the international stage, because they don't have those American games, League, or CSGO titles. But if you are into Mobile Games, they're the King.

its not going to happen sooner or later

you miss my point my friend.
riot doesnt care about their mobile fanbase because half of their division is not even Riot games right?
and they will not watching PC games BUT most Indonesian val fanbase will definitely watching them because of their new indonesian roster.
There are many variable that have been checklisted by Riot more than BOOM

  • hosting some val comunity tournament in 2021
  • owning OneUp
  • wild rift ID/PH?
  • val ID and move to PH

did you read it properly? they might have failed the in-depth interviews, and financial reviews , who knows

most effort?

RRQ have wild rift division and have been put serious effort and investment with Riot games following their investment in ID and PH.

nah, RRQ is wayy bigger than BOOM in a sense of structure and bussiness model
RRQ have wild rift division and have been put serious effort and investment with Riot games.

as i said before. money is not their problem. they are not worried about spending less cost or anything like that.

a) worried about player cost => not making academy team
b) not worried about player cost => making academy team
you know which one they choose right?

the organization even start hosting SA & SEA Val tournament.
and expanding to EU roster for CSGO 2023
their owner litterally a former black hacker who own a cyberscurity consultant company (i forgot the article)

posted about 2 years ago

buying APAC players also not guaranteed. see what happend with NGX.
I think their owner also mention on twitter that they tried to import top APAC player but its too late, many top player already settled with their team.
EU players bring more view and "instant" result. without EU players and coach they couldn't go deeper in the tournament.
i think they are also exploring hidden rough gems through their Academy team.
also without EU players people will not curious enough to watch their match, because ppl curious how EU players perform in APAC.

posted about 2 years ago

if you are bleed owner and had a lot of money (50M$), i think spending 3M$ for EU players is make sense.
Talent pool in SG is low.
Why you import from APAC when you could get EU/NA players?

posted about 2 years ago

yeah

posted about 2 years ago

the organizers rush out because some SEA country need more time to apply visa process i guess

posted about 2 years ago

Theres no pure apac, i think NcSlasher is american because he has US visa?

sScary is LFT for next year while still playing for XIA.
source: One Sport Thailand article

no, MiTH used to be a pretty decent team, look at their matchup against XIA in the past.
ORDER have been scrimming a lot since the last VCT against APAC teams. I would not surprised if tomorrow they steal at least a map against their opponents but, if ORDER win tmrrw i would consider it as an upset

posted about 2 years ago

you can say an upset if VN/HK teams went deep in the bracket. theres no upset so far

PRX has the adventages to ban the first 2 map. One of them would be split i guess

posted about 2 years ago

is there any case brazilian fans atacking a player in real life in any previous esports tournament before?

posted about 2 years ago

why not using animal instead like prev world cup, you could ask your cat to pick some foods with team logo or map

posted about 2 years ago

which one is better? like forums, events searching, sorting, stats, looks, site navigation etc.
both looks same but i think they are using different API perhaps?

posted about 2 years ago

one of PRX bans would be Split but why did you think FPX would pick breeze?

posted about 2 years ago

is this thread still relevant now? i'm curious

posted about 2 years ago

first time? it is DRX lineup months ago. but i'll give credit to benkai willing to do that setup play at 12-9 when they could have been closing the map early

based on scrimbux leaks, the player itself said on stream that they are more confident facing prx rather than xerxia, because vs xerxia is basically more "mind game"

posted about 2 years ago

i would say they are same. fanatism not only in football but esport as well.
there is a reason journalist making documentary film about their fanatism at competitive sport in general. their fanatism is just on another level

posted about 2 years ago

an onic player said on stream, they prefer to to face prx rather than xerxia if they could go deeper in the bracket.
for some reason they think vs xerxia is more of a "mind game"

orangutan and BTR, both lose with small margin in their regional playoffs ARE NOT EQUAL to "they could have done better at apac"
