Then they beat Heretics who were a runner-up in the previous masters and also had just beaten the other masters winner who was the tourney favorite. Please explain how this is an "all time low"?
Let's compare this to Champs 2023 and see who EG beat. They beat LOUD who won Americas and was a masters runner up. They lost to PRX who won Pacific. Then they beat PRX who won Pacific. They did not beat any masters winners like EDG did.
Let's compare this to Champs 2022 and see who LOUD beat. They beat Zeta twice, who were dogshit. They lost to Optic, a masters winner that year. Then they beat DRX who was the KR winner, no Pacific region yet. Then they beat Optic twice. Very much comparable to EDG's run.
Let's compare this to Champs 2021 and see who Acend beat. They beat Envy who was 2nd in NA. They beat TL who was a LCQ team. Then they beat Gambit who won the previous masters. Comparable but objectively weaker than EDG's run when comparing by accolades.
So please enlighten us all on why you think Champs 2024 was an "all time low". Looking forward to hearing it.
There are multiple tier 2 NA teams that would legitimately place top 5 in EMEA. Rankers would beat everyone except Vitality including TL, TSM, M80, and YFP would all be top 5. Stick to CS E*uropeans
EDG are literally the world champions from a very short amount of time ago you can't put them any lower than 2 lmao
Only reason to think DRX or T1 aren't that good is because Pacific is so good that when teams play each other they often are close 2-1s. Sen, Liquid, and Trace probably wouldn't even be top 5 in Pacific.

This is such a dumb take cherry-picking the success stories while we've seen other tier 2 guys get rocked as soon as they enter tier 1. Bleed and M8 as a whole got rolled. Keiko was ass. Enzo was ass. Shadow was ass. Magnum was ass. Mistic was uber ass. Havoc, Hiroronn and Yoran were some of the worst players I've had the misfortune of laying eyes upon. Some guys are tier 2 because they belong there. Looking good in tier 2 is not some automatic sign they should be in tier 1
Congrats to Apeks! But truthfully, a lowkey uninspiring run for a team so hyped due to their weak Polaris region. Lots of close games that were only won by opponents throwing. Can't help but peg them as a bottom tier team in Tier 1 in their current state
GenG was certainly not a fluke and you could easily argue that they are still a top 3 team in this tourney. They lost to the team that was a close runner-up to them last Masters and went 1-1 against a team that has won the other Masters this year. There is definitely a valid argument that these are literally the best three teams of the year, especially if Heretics wins Champs. Deadliest group of all time probably.

I thought that in a 3 way record tie, it would be broken by maps won, maps lost, then round diff. Apparently this is not the case? Because if EG win, Kru lose, and 100T lose 0-2, then they would all be 5-5 but EG would have 12 maps won and 100T 11 maps won. So what is the actual tiebreaker method if EG is already eliminated from playoffs?
