even though he has made so many masterpieces, saint pablo really is the only choice
i think the loud vs navi one at the end from doug should also be pretty high, but generally a w list
i think their chances are better than what most people make of them. my win condition for giants this year was f1tinho to prove he is ready for tier 1 and we can see that he is. the support players on this team are so nutty, it's unbelievable. i think cloud didn't show even 50% of what he is capable of. if they fix their mistakes on ascent, i think they have an upper hand against kru, and for the rematch against edg, i believe that it's a 50/50 game.
90% we witness the self-destruction of drx
50% of jett mains switch to chamber this event
10% fpx makes it out of groups
i appreciate the context that this guy brought at least. i was digging for awhile and i couldn't find anything, it's up to everybody now to make their opinion.
that's the answer i needed. thank you for the insight!
like i prefaced, my knowledge of this situation isn't the best, that's why i asked the question
i'd like to preface this by saying i don't have the best knowledge of brazilian valorant and brazilians as people, and what i am about to ask isn't coming from a place of hate.
however, having read what not one, but two, of the players from the union(pancc - sa a 15 y/o, ntk - be@t his ex), surely with riot's track record, something has to be done, right?
i know, i am not criticizing him for this performance alone, i just feel like the shao sentinel experiment has been extremely underwhelming. they literally have suygetsu, who along with nats and less, is the best sentinel imo.
that is the ultimate goal, i agree, and we see that on maps like ascent, but the meta has been trending against the double initiator, so shao on controller, just seems like a no-brainer to me
although it may seem reactionary, i feel like na'vi have not been taking full advantage of the current meta this whole season(double controller, solo initiator - skye)
i have not been impressed with shao on sentinel, and with his previous experience on controller, it feels like a no-brainer to have him play that role, right?
suygetsu is sick on viper, but his killjoy, especially on split had been spectacular previously.
tl;dr
shao, please, play controller
suygetsu, please, play sentinel
well, my whole point was that if they were to play on the newest patch, and with almost half of the maps leaning towards a raze, or a neon, a chamber on these maps would start to make sense again, i.e. bind, fracture, split maybe even lotus and pearl?
emea teams have preferred the astra/kayo comp, so this should be an interesting dynamic to keep an eye on.
#10, has just clarified, that the tournament will be played on the pre-viper nerf patch, so i think viper will still be extremely relevant, but, i guess, we will wait and see!
thanks for the clarification! well, i guess, i am gonna go with the other prediction i put in the brackets.
i remember there was such post made for lock///in, so i thought, why not bring it back for the upcoming masters tokyo!
here are my preds:
90% chamber revival(if they are playing on the new patch, if not, i'd go with fut dropping in groups, and going to the lcq)
50% emea team wins(maybe emea bias, but i think with liquid coming in hot form and fnatic being fnatic, it seems okayish?)
10% one chinese team finishes inside the top6
can we talk about their team comp like wtf is this abomination?!?!?!?!
i try not to go over the recommended dosage of 400mg caff, even though I feel like my tolerance is very high, because 350-400mg is sometimes insufficient for me throughout the day. my go-to is big cup of black coffee in the morning, and a monster in the afternoon for study/work/workout
it's basically hardcore p00rn. some people enjoy it, others find it too much domination.
probably, but surely he is better than reita and can contribute with secondary calling.
they are setting him up to do those crazy plays with updrafts and stuff, so, yeah, he just needs time to refine what he needs to do.
give him time. he is still young and had never played in t1 before.(i know, flag, copium)
Valorantle #222 8/8

i have been very big on giants, since 2021, when they basically had the same core(fitinho, hoody, pipson). my only concern is fitinho, as he lacks consistency. we saw both his highs and lows against nrg, so if he picks up his level, this team will be playing in tokyo. cloud can become one of the very best initiators, hoody is good at everything he plays, and nukkye and rhyme have surprised me a lot with their adaptation of the roles they play. i would love to see nukkye's raze more, though ngl.
bro, liquid had always experimented with such comps, and while I agree it had potential, it ultimately never materialized. i used the call those comps the sliggy ketamine comps, but it seems like scream is the one taking bumps. :D
just bring a damn duelist man
south north american team, huh?
90% chamber not picked
50% fnatic beat both 100t and sen
10% giants reach top4
derke(half copium, half more versatile as a duelist than yay)
saadhak(fns maybe a better igl, but saadhak brings more firepower)
mako(tough decision, could be him, pancada or marved)
shao(it could easily be leo, however shao imo is more proven)
nats(could make a great case for suygetsu, but cmon it’s nats)
considering THIS as well, a team like optic shouldn’t rely on an inconsistent player like him.
safe to say they didn’t prove themselves. :)
also, to support my point, remember when yay joined envy right before masters3? people were skeptical, because mummay was doing a solid enough job, just like victor is right now, and to break up a squad right before a lan event seemed stupid. rest is history like they say…
never said anything about stats. just looked it up, he has 206acs, which is great for a suicide player. like i said though, he often times gets on the wrong side of duels and feels like he either gets a 3k or dies first three times in a row. also that environment point you brought up, have you seen optic after their loss against loud? it’s only one game, true, but like you said, we don’t know much about their environment, so we can’t be sure if all things are going smoothly.
that’s my whole point. i know what victor’s role is and i know how suicidal it is, however i see a lot of players doing the same/better job than him.
sure, i agree. however, his impact has seemingly gotten worse and worse throughout this year.
i am not the one to instantly hop on a bandwagon and go after someone’s head, but unless victor steps up(which may not even be enough), i think optic should get rid of him. he is often times doing more wrong than right and with the 2023 season right around the corner, i think optic should look at the free agents, or players left out of the franchised league, to replace him.
thoughts?
i think triple initiator is the way to go. after that you can alternate between jett/chamber or astra/omen
incredible how fast fans’ opinion changes… in copenhagen surf was talked about as one of the best duelists/chambers in the tournament. i know he played bad this tournament, but for the love of god, stop being so reactionary.
yet you are still talking about a timeframe of one month. if 100t prove themselves on champs,(which seems very plausible) we can return to this conversation.
people saying 100t players after one game are extremely reactionary. for me the most improved players this year are mindfreak, and possibly ardiis, just because ardiis’ 2021 was shit.
winning 16-14 against furia, still doesn’t make me think drx will progress further than 5th-6th. sorry.
