eh the 3rd one didnt really count because sub, and the ones in challengers were awhile ago so not really riots fault for once

riot doesnt give a shit about good tournaments

posted about 2 years ago

true, that comp is fun

posted about 2 years ago

yeah, but no duelist haven is not meta. the icebox one was the first one that lots of teams started to use

posted about 2 years ago

forgot about fnatic doing postplant too tbh, still wouldnt say liquid defined meta because no duelist comps didnt catch on until the g2 icebox ones, the liquid and fnatic ones (triple controller bind) werent that good

DRX steel 7head

posted about 2 years ago

oh definitely, they have some cool set strats that surprise teams early in the tournament, but they never defined the meta, if they did they mightve got past top 6

posted about 2 years ago

no duelist was first used at high level by g2 (the triple sentinel icebox comp)
v1 started the post plant meta in first iceland (running viper+kj+ astra on haven) before it got nerfed
picking up new agents isnt a DRX thing either lol, 100T steel played kayo in NA before DRX
Neon comps actually were used first by M3C, and optic said they copied their comp soon after
the mid postplant bonus round setup on icebox with KJ lineups that i think youre referencing was actually done by Alliance in EU before DRX

DRX is a good team but they dont define the meta

posted about 2 years ago

DRX didnt really define the meta though, like they have very unique strats but they havent caught on internationally

posted about 2 years ago

are they still doing the group of 3 + group of 4 thing as last one?

posted about 2 years ago

not a SEN fan but i think it has a decent chance of being actually good. if it doesnt it will crash and burn tho lol

posted about 2 years ago

shroud has ages of experience at t1 CSGO lans and SEN's biggest problem recently has been teamplay and composure, shroud veteran presence might be able to help them with this even if hes not played pro in a while

rocket league is very hype, i hope that valorant can have better viewership but I dont think it can happen when riot keeps adding new agents and observers are not great

posted about 2 years ago

blast is cool but they do the same/less teams as VCT, i'd love to see a csgo major style 16/24 team tournament with swiss stage, those are always my favorite to watch in CS

posted about 2 years ago

idk why we gotta hate it, I play both games and this seems pretty hype (dont think its cope bc ive heard it might be coming in the next year or so other times so)

in CS there is a big kazakh scene that competes in CIS tournaments but when they play in european tournaments ping is like 100 so it was kinda a meme (there was a t2 team called 100 ping gods and major mvp AdreN was always known for being super good despite playing with 100+ ping from kazakhstan)

edit: i saw from ur other comment youre from kazakhstan so u prob know all the CS stuff anyways but the point is CSGO had a CIS region so that kazakh/russia teams could play better ping amongst themselves

posted about 2 years ago

mongolia has some pretty solid CS teams, i wish we could see them in valorant but its seems riot doesnt have much support for central asia as much as CS (grouping kazakhstan and others into EMEA instead of having CIS region fucks them for ping)

yeah I watch pro val and CS and never really see val mentioned on HLTV

KR vs JP was the opening match last reykjavic too, its like riot never wants to show SA vs ASIA

posted about 2 years ago

if they do NA v NA in playoffs again imma lose it

posted about 2 years ago

for seeding purposes zeta in reykjavik wasnt really a threat and they had a really bad international record but def improved afterwards

also both fnatic and c9 were also both very low ranked going into champs (derke not top20) and DRX was supposed to top that group easily

I did forget about berlin though, for seeding purposes that was expected to be a tough group before SMB's EMEA honeymoon period wore off

posted about 2 years ago

✅ put iceland finalists in same group
✅ put all of south america in the same group (+optic so all of america tbh)
✅ put all of asia in the same group

typical riot rigged groups to make sure the bigger regions all make playoffs, like DRX probably deserve to make playoffs but i swear riot tries to give them the easiest path all the time

posted about 2 years ago

they do this every time, it doesnt make sense competitively to not have different regions play each other more

posted about 2 years ago

these would make the most sense but knowing riot we will get some dogshit combo
