No. T2 competes amongst itself in shitty tournaments with no viewers.

True. Everybody said that "EMEA fans are so toxic" and I expected VLR to be a shitshow after FPX won, but it wasn't. In fact, it was more quiet than when PRX beat fnatic (that was a true shitshow). So I guess my theory of APAC fans being extensively toxic and arrogant is true.

You can't be serious thinking FPX and Fnc are superteams. My man look at liquid/acend/guild/oglu/navi/m3c/g2/tr they still have some of the best talent.

PRX and FPX the only two teams that deserve to win it

posted about 2 years ago

i dont mind either winning honestly. Both play beautiful valorant in my eyes. Just a W for valorant either way

it's ok. the game is pretty much dying in europe we can only thank riot for constantly undermining us.

I don't even know what sort of motivation do these EU teams have to compete in such a difficult league with such low viewership only for THREE teams to actually make it to LAN (the entire year). Can't wait to see all the EU orgs pull the plug on this riot cesspool.

Uncut gem. It's Adam Sandler's career turning point. Completely snubbed by awards but one of the best movies of our time. Nothing encapsulates anxiety like that movie (if you are into a movie making you feel like shit (having such strong control over your emotions)).

The start of the end. Riot is so deluded that they think that the tier2 will replace the VCT teams and get the same viewership while the franchised league is gonna take up another imaginary audience of millions.

In reality, what is going to happen is, the tier 2 scene's viewership will devolve even further below current VRL viewership because (literally) the only reason people even watched VRLs was to see who was gonna make it to the VCT. VRL viewership will go down to below 2k per match, no org can justify spendings on that, only very small orgs, with very small paychecks. Tier2 will become a wasteland.

As for the League, it will initially be able to put up numbers like Reykjavik 1 but then it will drop down to what we are having currently.

Now, let's not blame franchising for the orgs exodus. This was bound to happen as only very few orgs were profiting from valorant as of now. The rest were bleeding money. The market was oversaturated with more than 30 top tier orgs in NA alone competing for crumbs of viewership in the range of 800 people in Knights/NSG. You can't justify paying players even minimum wage for that exposure.

This was bound to happen, I said it back in 2020, just not to that extend. And Riot really didn't think it out because the mass exodus that is going to ensue is going to be terrible publicity and will be a huge turn off for many of us, esports fans.

posted about 2 years ago

It won't exist. No way NSG is gonna run a competition with 200 viewers.

posted about 2 years ago

Not if that scene has no promotion to the franchise league or is unable to produce numbers like this year's VCT.

posted about 2 years ago

That was a year ago. He hasn't played CS in a year. You can't just come back like that he is gonna get eaten.

posted about 2 years ago

You're right, I got confused with peak viewership. But the numbers mason: 1.1m peak 480k average VS 480k peak 280k average. That is a massive dropoff.

posted about 2 years ago

nah fam, you have to understand he was struggling in ENCE when they were tier2. Now he wouldn't even be accepted in HAVU.

i think he means pinnacle cups and other Btier events

The issue here is that both Valorant and CS are fundamentally very flawed, CS as a game and Valorant as an esport. They have a lot of shit to improve on but have 0 pressure from either community. Because either community is using the opposing game as a scapegoat. You say something bad about CS you are a "valulrante" player. You say something bad about Riot, you're a "cs frog." In the end, both games are suffering.

From my experience (could be biased, not into CSGO much anymore) Valorant is suffering the most from it. I've repeatedly tried criticizing Riot in terms of their eSports management and repeatedly I've had to deal with stubborn people in denial. There's so much shit that is wrong and it shows: from costreams, to formats, to production quality, to bad/uninterested casters, to bad/uninterested players. In the end, the results are staggering: From an average of 800k viewers every international we are down to 280k(!!!!!!!!).

But no, if you point these things out, you're a "cs frog." And Riot gets away with it scott-free, without spending a dime or dropping a single sweat.

posted about 2 years ago

i dont think nivera or jamppi can compete anymore. CSGO pro scene is actually very punishing

posted about 2 years ago

with shroud it feels like that was 50% of the viewership tbh, he used to hit like 450k viewers.

posted about 2 years ago

That just isn't true. It's literally proven that once Shroud stopped doing a watch party. Those viewers didn't come back.

posted about 2 years ago

what copium. A random non-major LAN literally doubled on master's viewership. Valorant viewership is dropping constantly. It went from 1.2m to 1.0m to 800k to 500k, it's a constant dropoff. Riot need to get their shit together and stop producing garbage esports management. Literally the worst management i've seen in esports since Omegalulwatch.

With how fnatic are performing it would be expected that they lose to fpx.
