edg got 6th both masters and champs as a breakout for china
navi ran back the fpx roster in 2024 and did nothing
fanatic won 2 events went undefeated in split and got 4th at champs the previous year. surely a 6th place champs and 8th place masters was way worse than they were expecting no?

how is edg and heretics situation different than every other team i mentioned, those two do not have the most success out of every team there. but to anwser your question it does and doesnt make sense to run it back, sure each team was insane this year and had good showing but looks at the facts, there has never been a team that did good back to back years and still did great by keeping the same 5 players and coach. (besides maybe prx and fnatic if you count getting grouped and 0-2 at playoffs a good year) it cannot hurt to change.

you can say that it make sense to run it back but historically it really doesnt.

you can say that about every single team i mentioned look at everyones past results, things get stale, chem changes, people change, meta changes, map pool changes. just because it worked once doesn't mean its gonna work the next year. plus if u have 4 pieces to the championship core surely you can still make internationals right? doesnt hurt to change something.

teams that keep their old lineup do NOT cook, just switch atleast 1 player, even if all 5 of those players were amazing on their role you cant guarantee that same success, new map pools, new teams/players, new agents, new meta. too many variables, hot take idk why people have either winning regional or winning a event (besides EDG for regionals) I don't think we will ever see the same 5 win a title in 2 different years.

tenz to me is world class, karon is the only player i think that had a year as good as tenz in his role, arguements can maybe be made for kingg and smoggy but without tenz sentinels dont even make it to madrid.

i think thats where the problem is, if their is a gap between people like aspas, jawgemo, eg demon1, leo and more compared to others I dont think its fair to call them world class because it kinda undermines what world class means, lets say last year aspas was on the 1-9 mibr team, and they still only got 1 win, I dont think you could call him world class even if he puts up good preformance because he would still be in the same conversations as zekken and texture players who won a event and were the star players

i wont deny they wont be atleast playoff teams but i still think winning titles is too far, if these teams played against madrid sentinels, champs edg, and shanghai geng i dont see a single brazilian team beating them, the farthest i would go is mibr beating g2,lev, prx, and loud ate their 2024 peak and maybe furia making it top top 6 like Fut did in shanghai

IMO you can say a player is really good even if they dont have a top team (top 15 in region) but to say they are world class is crazy, when you say world class i think of aspas,leo, zekken,texture,meteor,tenz, i dont think of verno,primmie,cortezia, i know for a fact a world class player can still drag a bum team to atleast a couple wins because thats what jawgemo did with eg last season, Narrate for KC, and cleary 2023 loud was a bum team carried by aspas (as seen by their results in 2024 with the same roster -aspas)

youd be surprised the amount of people im seeing saying verno is top 10, even fns called him top 3 americas before ascension was even over

im a 2g beleive i think they will go crazy when they get spike for the regular season, their super fun to watch aswell, but for furia and loud, the last 3 years have been super incocnsistent, they make it to champs 2022 and ALMOST beat drx then choke, and lose 0-2, in playoffs, then they do decent in americas 2023 make playoffs, then 2024 they have a really bad first half, then okay second half. it's like furia is getting worse i just dont have alot of hope for them to be better than like a 7-5th place team.

i also mentioned like 15 other players, and players in brazil have potential to make top 10 but 1. their either too young, 2. bad teams, you cant call someone on a bad team top 10 ITW, or 3. its just potential, they arent top 10 YET.

like i said only 3 rookies last year were considered to be overall top 10 in world or region excluding niche groups like john being top 10 igl or s1mon top 10 initiator

The Glaze i've seen for players like Cortezia and Verno is crazy.
The same exact convos happened last year with people like Primmie, Narrate, Marteen, Keiko, Meiy, Yetujey they were all called the best in the world or region last year as rookies and none of them did anything internationally. Before some braindead VLR loser says something i'm not calling them all ass i'm just saying its crazy to be calling rookies better than already established title winners. They all have potential to be the best ITW but they aren't right now. the only people who made any waves internationally as rookies were Karon,Johnqt,Woot,Riens,Hiro,Icy,S1mon,and only 3 of those guys deserved top 10 ITW at any point last year and it's gonna be the same for this year.

replicate it during the regular season, off season doesnt mean a whole lot hes playing teams with significantly less practice than his team, no doubt he will become top 10 but he has never played tier 1, never won anything, never made playoffs, and he didnt even do anything notable with his team in t2

g2 have infinitely more credibility than verno has right now, no doubt he keeps it up he will become top 10 but brother hasnt played a single tier 1 game
