Might be the worst take I’ve seen esp going into Bangkok. Chinese teams don’t play yoru. DRX doesn’t play yoru. Vitality didn’t even run yoru, breach, Tejo on the same team comp. Tl doesn’t play yoru breach. You just don’t like G2 and Sen and good news there are 6 teams that don’t play like them at Bangkok.
Prime Jett and chamber with outlaw probably kill the light shield meta and make regen shield useless. Probably causes more full eco rounds which are generally less interesting. However with prime chamber and old Jett ult those ecos might be more contested.
I also think being a superstar is harder not because of weaker agents but because of how much better pros are at using util to take space. Prime Jett would not save wardell in 2025.
Did they ever announce the reasoning for carpe playing over sylvan at the end of kickoff? Also have they said if sylvan or carpe is going to play at Bangkok?
I think it’s probably one of the best roster moves in Valorant. Tenz benched himself so he wasn’t even playing for c9 when he got bought out. C9 got a mil, sen definitely got more than that value from tenz being signed and tenz got to win valorants first international despite c9 being a mid team.
All players from Kickoff that played flash initiators and were in VCT last year (and Xeppaa who played flash during RBHG):
kingg, jonahp, natank, asuna, Ethan, n4rrate, xeppaa, NaturE, cauanzin, nzr, Mazino, mwzera, artzin, Derrek, mitch, Boostio
I kind of assume its an NA player based on who Zander would talk with and its probably not Asuna, Boostio, JonahP or N4rrate.
N4ture, Derrek, Xeppaa, Mitch, and Ethan are the remaining ones.
I think Derrek is possible and -mitch +Rossy would be a classic C9 move.
Assuming the info is real, I highly doubt zander would leak that his teammate is getting dropped.
The two top Americas teams are really heavy into yoru compared to the rest of the teams. The emea teams and t1 play it on certain maps. Drx only plays Jett/raze. Only the Chinese representatives have been playing neon. Region wise emea seems to have the highest playrate, Americas is skewed because the two top teams both played yoru and played the most maps.
Bangkok will be a cool way to tell if we are entering a yoru meta.
I think it’s not really possible for teams to come prepped with multiple comps for maps if we expect an agent ban. Per your pearl example, yes the meta shifted but that was after significant nerfs to viper and a large buff to astra (5 stars) along with changes to b that shifted the meta so it’s not like these two comps were equally viable. Also I’m not sure how meta sova and Kay/0 are, in my mind an astra ban would completely change the approach teams would have.
I probably put to much value into prep time for teams, but I do think agent bans would make for an overall lower skill level in games.
Even 1 ban per team warps the game significantly. For example abyss, sova is an integral part of the pro meta with a >90% play rate, banning him would throw teams off signifcantly as they don’t have drone and dart to contest areas in their defaults. Breach is essential for most teams’ defaults on haven and fracture, banning these agents would cause a lot of chaos for teams. Most maps have one agent in their role that has drastically higher play rate. I think you are underestimating the impact it would have on pro play.
I feel like Liquid, Vitality, EDG or Sen could be quite strong as teams that rely more on strong aimers and fundamentals, which are agent agnostic, than heavily drilled strats relying on specific util usage. Agent bans make set strats much more difficult, depending on the number of bans, but most defaults would be difficult to run if you rely on a specific piece of util and that agent gets banned out.
So 9-12 at the end of the season means you have to go back through open qualifiers for ascension and then 5-8 is a reserved spot in ascension?
This guy's stats are higher than Flor's when she was in gamechangers. Bro is a freak.
wait that's actually insane, there's a pretty good chance every ascension team except for g2 gets nuked
If both teams don't is it worse overall yearly performance or the older team?
Can someone explains how the system for relegation works, is it just the worst performing of the two teams from each region gets relegated at the end of this year? If so that sucks for China when their ascension teams seem to solidly be in the top half of the t1 teams.
His ADR is higher than most people's ACS, actually insane
Have they started to look like their off-season form again in the new Chinese tournament?
you fuck with the xset cereal bowl?
Tarik hyping him up has to be one of the weirdest esports interactions. It feels reminiscent of Dracula Flow.
Are you rating Apeks 5-8 based on them with batujnax or Oderus?
If the first 4 teams to be knocked out of each kickoff went to an international tournament who would win?
Americas: 100T, 2G, C9, Furia
China: AG, TEC, Tyloo, Wolves
EMEA: Apeks, KC, Koi, Navi
Pacific: Boom, GE, TS, Zeta
I think 100T or KC are favorites with Boom being a dark horse.
Can’t tell if bait, but if you’re legitimately curious it’s because EWC is directly related to the Saudi government and US events are just in the US but are ran by companies that are not affiliated with the US government.
If FNS has a million fans, then I am one of them. If FNS has ten thousand fans, then I am one of them. If FNS has one hundred fans then I'm done, I can only watch so many -31 games man.
Bro does not know of Okobotro 🗿 https://www.vlr.gg/229685/okobotro
2 vlr readers believe picture books are better than research. I'm shocked. (edited for clarity)
What aspas getting diffed by zellsis does to a mf
Sen haters make me want the team to win. Sen fans make me want the team to lose.
It's not that deep.
just imagine how good he would be if there was 2leaves
fr someone tell Kaplan that Abyss is in Sør-Jan on Jan Mayen, Norway
fr these artists need to stop making skins and start working on syncing player cams
Is o0o0o as bad as his stats make him look. Haven't had the time to watch China, but looking at the match results from kickoff and off season his stats near FNS levels. Eye test says that the rest of Nova look decent, is he a good igl (assuming hes igl) or have really good util (hard to tell from assists, cause kay/0 and skye farms assists without always having a big impact)?
Interestingly at last Champs only 3 teams (PRX, Talon, and Trace) had two different duelist players. Both teams that ran double duelists comps didn't make top 8 and Trace went out at 7th-8th. Granted it was a different map pool, but it could be a sign that double duelist has been pushed out of the pro meta.
and if you touch spike you get sucked off
