To be fair they are using this 'lesser stakes' match to test out new comps, but they're playing poorly in general this series. Every team has a bad game, not sure why the overreaction. Unless they bomb out in playoffs this is nothing to be worried about. Like GenG losing to Team Secret.

Boostio isn't even top 5 right now lmao, Munchkin is probably the best igl right now. There's also a case for johnqt but I think Munchkin clears atm.

They've had problems all year but I honestly didn't think they could sink any lower. Yeah their season is done so this match is kind of irrelevant but their performance throughout split 2 shows a lot of internal issues. Roles aren't quite right, coaching staff doesn't seem to be cooking and saadhak's calling has dropped off a cliff since we begun split 2 and I think nobody is comfortable on duelist.

So what do you need to place in order to qualify for Ascension? Only the winner qualifies for Ascension? Hope DarkZero wins because they have the coolest name.

Credit to Potter for dragging this roster nearly to playoffs. It's a miracle they even got the wins that they did. Apoth and Nature are pretty bad and Jawgemo had a very ON/OFF year. When Jawgemo isn't going nuclear the team doesn't have enough firepower to make up for it. Hopefully this roster of leftovers is finished and we get a good EG roster next year.

These players were playing for their tier 1 careers lmao and no team wants to end their season on a loss to the worst team in franchising

He is quite literally the worst player in tier 1 right now, dude is a more predictable lurker/flanker than c0m

so how do NRG qualify?

posted 11 months ago

Apoth and Nature are 100% not playing on a tier 1 team next year, their performances have been underwhelming all year but not fragging when you're against MIBR is CRAZY.

What was Shanks ceiling as a pro? Did he really have potential to be the best duelist in america?

Average VLR revisionism thread. FNC was the best team of 2023 and it's not even close. Makes me sad considering how washed they are this year.

I'd say GenG have had the better year, they've looked like a powerhouse team at every stage. SEN had a worse post-Madrid slump and GenG's beaten a wider variety of teams. If GenG win Champs they have to be in GOAT contention.

I'm predicting DRX to do better in Seoul than PRX

I think these are the deserving 4. Talon beat RRQ so it's only right. RRQ were honestly disappointing when it came to the stratbook.

posted 11 months ago

A lot of teams that were looking shaky in either stage 1 or Shanghai look in form right now, I think a lot of teams are peaking at the right time this year. I could see a lot of different possibilities for what the top 6 teams at Champs will be.

posted 11 months ago

To be fair so did TH, both teams have pretty poor mental in those situations

posted 11 months ago

Guess they need to beg NDG to come back :(

posted 11 months ago

People say the "saving strats" line is cope after a team loses but in GenG's case they actually are taking it easy in the regular season and then kick it into next gear for playoffs and international events. Regular season GenG is alright and still aimdiffs the entire region, but once they start going into the stratbook they're a whole different beast. Just compare their performance against Bleed in the regular season to their playoff matches against RRQ and PRX.

PRX vs GenG is typically a close series, no? Their underwhelming performance in Shanghai and now having their worst performance against GenG tells me PRX is getting worse. Their limited map pool and shitty comps might not even get them top 6 this time. The game has changed.

Sentinel is the most easy role in the game, I genuinely don't understand how that wouldn't work out

FPX had a high ceiling in Shanghai but poor defense and bad comps really screwed them over. I'm worried that they doubled down on the stupid shit that worked instead of improving what didn't work.

I just hope the chinese teams that go to champs (looking at Trace and FPX in particular) improve off of their international experience and understand that the chinese style of valorant isn't going to get you far on the big stage. DRG have regressed after Shanghai and I honestly haven't seen a ton of improvement from FPX.
