You'd think any good team would look to keep control of mid as long as possible on Ascent lmfao, it's not as simple as you make it out to be.
that 10th round was so fucking good. Perfect perfect read holy shit
No, Acend lost to VS and 100Thieves in Masters.
they are p good actually now that u mention
DRX - KoreanOverlord
and he's not even a DRX fan lmfao
well if you put it like that you could legit use that excuse for any team, but remember that Acend was the best EU team at the event and lost to only SMB and Gambit in Challengers, the former they 2-0'd in Groups.
NiP got grouped and so did Xerxia, but Xerxia played closer games between the top 2 seeds of that group compared to NiP and KRÜ, so no, I don't think it's delusional. And Paper Rex knocked out NA's 1st seed 2-0. LOUD have potential and they were the sole reason I edited my original distribution a number of times.
Actually, I edited the slot distribution a number of times because I wasn't sure whether to take slots from BR/LATAM or from other regions, but with NiP winning BR/LATAM qualifiers and getting grouped, and with KRÜ also getting grouped (the latter did not win a single map) I think it was fair to give Asia more slots than BR/LATAM. Please don't call me delusional because I did not pander to your South American narrative.
Still the same roster bruv.
I keep tabs on the JP scene and I knew Zeta was going to be good, even worried when they were drawn up against DRX. I was relieved after the loss but noted they were actually a good team. I'm still surprised though, to knock out 2 EMEA teams (one that placed top 4 at Champs too) is insane, and from JP no less.
Acend couldn't beat DRX in a group stage match bro.
What the fuck did Guard do to deserve this? Anyone with over double digit IQ points would know that this being their first international LAN there would be lots of nerves. Valyn, Trent, neT, JonahP, and Sayaplayer are all really kind and great players. Valyn even reads the threads on vlr.gg, he went out and remembered the one I made! They don't deserve this hate man. Fuck toxic fans.
Seoldam - Dishwashing Representative (설거지=dishwashing)+(담당=representative)=설담
Chibab - Chicken and Bab (rice)
i need drx to beat optic man i need the hopium overdose
true true true zeta are well disciplined, in fact they have a good chance of beating PRX if they meet because iirc zeta also beat PRX in scrims before. i am just curious whether they will be able to adapt again to this tempo after playing teams like TL, G2. because they are not as experienced as DRX.
EMEA superteam is literally gambit with Derke bro. and FPX
Sideshow talks too much about stats. But they are better than doug and balla.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm saying those guys need to qualify first lol s1mple at least managed to attend the tournaments
big juicy meaty throbbing hot group stage?
You have a point but historically Japan's best players were their Korean imports and KR, despite leaking players, has still achieved more than JP has. We will have to see though.
PRX playstyle works really well on teams who don't know how to deal with aggression. We'll see how well ZETA do but stylistically I don't know if it's a good matchup for them. I think PRX are like gatekeepers as their style can get easily punished by more experienced, disciplined teams but they will break apart any team that is unprepared/inexperienced.
pansy and hypoc are the only enjoyable casters.
idk if it was doug or balla but one of them is so boring and doesn't know what's going on and has such an obvious bias its painful to watch. i just watch tenz's stream or lothar's stream because tarik doesn't pay attention.
bro...
edit: nvm realised its the homeboy Gian all good
I think KR deserves 2 slots more than JP (JP wouldn't be importing Koreans like crazy if they were the stronger region)
agree tbh. DRX mental was boomed by glitches.
well Chronicle nAts and Zeek did not qualify, so idk if you can say that. They need to qualify in their own region first. It is undoubtedly true that FPX would be heavy heavy favourites if they made it, but for Acend and Gambit they wouldn't have been at the event.
At Masters Berlin South Korea could not send its 2nd best team due to single elim qualifiers but we didn't make a fuss about it. We just supported F4Q who went in their stead.
DRX aren't gonna pick Haven because Haven is a good map for OpTic too imo they probably do better on Split
Heard he was super biased vs NA teams
that's fair but I added 2 to LCQ because APAC is such a huge region with lots of subregions, if I gave 1 slot to APAC it would just be giving a slot to SEA + SA + OCE and KR/JP teams would miss out imo. I guess the compromise would be to split APAC LCQ into North and South then but you run into risks where the best representatives might not be sent (e.g. APAC south becomes a weak region, then KR/JP, despite being the stronger APAC region, can only send 1). By keeping 2 slots from APAC LCQ you can guarantee the strongest reps from that region are sent to Champs. That's my reasoning anyway.
Stage 1 DK and WGS would definitely beat 2021 CR and even Northeption imo
keep the EMEA format what
3 EMEA
2 NA
2 APAC
2 KR
1 JP
1 BR/LATAM QUALIFIER
2 APAC LCQ
1 NA LCQ
1 EMEA LCQ
1 BR/LATAM LCQ
as of right now there are 3 Asian teams in playoffs (PRX DRX ZETA), 1 EMEA team (G2), 1 BR team (LOUD), and 1 NA team (OpTic).
However, I think EMEA still deserves its 4 slots because FPX couldn't make it & the asterisk with FNATIC. And Liquid topped their group.
NA 3 slots is fair too as I think OpTic are doing pretty well.
KR deserves 1 more slot (alternatively could be a KR/JP qualifier) due to DRX.
JP keeps their slot because ZETA DIVISION run is good but they did get knocked into lowers and because this is the first time they got out of groups. Alternatively they get another slot thru KR/JP qualifier.
APAC gets 2 LCQ slots because we can see how well they did at Champs and can assume the growth in the region is really good + JP and KR are also in playoffs, so APAC as a whole is looking stacked (remember APAC LCQ is KR JP SEA SA and OCE).
BR/LATAM get 1 slot removed because NiP and KRÜ got grouped (but keep their LCQ slot)
Reyna suits Paper Rex's playstyle, can't say she will suit other teams.
JAPAN SCENE POPS OFF CHECK
can we count DRX going on a KRU one too?
not even, tarik just doesnt really care unless its an NA team
i am hoping but still, won't be surprised. will have to see map 1 to tell.
g2 doesnt scare me. optic scare me.
yeah but this isnt a gam e they should go to LB on
i am scared ngl drx could def lose to optic man
fr narrative used to be that DRX are overhyped now that they've proven they're not the narrative is that KR is one team region LMAO
