Riot already detailed their plans for 2023 and it fixes this problem no?

never heard of maru, WGS is like okay in terms of pay and CNJ only recently got a big sponsor.

seoldam carried a team with TENNN and SugarZ3ro on it though? if anything this Masters shows Seoldam ISN'T overrated.

i wish we saw more of BuZz chamber/Jett this masters...

is possible your monitor just doesn't support it, but i'm doubtful on that. no other explanation that i can think of though. maybe check your nvidia control panel.

posted about 3 years ago

they didnt even win first strike. they won other tourneys but it wasnt domination. they also lost to envy with sinatraa right before they got tenz

posted about 3 years ago

yeah. not too keen on league history but was it not hosted in Phreak's basement and only consisted of NA and EU as league wasn't the esports giant it is today?

edit: ok so after googling it wasnt hosted in an actual basement but the meme is that it was so low quality people called it phreak's basement. the consensus is ppl dont really count it though it seems.

posted about 3 years ago

no longer Rb but BuZz yes

posted about 3 years ago

underhyped by ppl who dont know what theyre talking about tbf

posted about 3 years ago

does the first one count actually i havent really seen anyone count the first one as worlds cuz it was just NA and EU

posted about 3 years ago

g2 never won worlds dont u mean msi

posted about 3 years ago

welp ggs hopefully better form at Worlds

posted about 3 years ago

so why is JP>KR when KR has only ever lost to a JP team once, and also beat that same team earlier in the tourney in a dominant fashion?

posted about 3 years ago

Scout was literally the second midlaner for SKT T1 while faker was in his prime lmao?

every chinese team that won worlds had at least 2 korean players who also arguably happened to be their star players
iG: Theshy, Rookie
FPX: Gimgoon, Doinb
EDG: Scout, Viper

no disrespect at all my dude. they helped me out as well.

depends on whether india keeps producing players like Forsaken, who cheat. i still feel bad for the indian cs community cuz of that.

one day i will watch an indian dude explain the concepts of MOBAs and Tac FPS with a shitty mic on youtube, just like in math and coding

Well the first time Zeta met DRX they got 5 rounds and 2-0'ed, the second time it was a close win with an 11-13 first map. So I don't think it's fair to say they are better because in the end they are 1-1 against each other.

Unless you're saying Liquid is better than DRX, which is completely unproven because the two have never played each other, and it doesn't even make sense because it's a regional debate..

posted about 3 years ago

Liquid didn't even play vs DRX...? Also this is a Regional debate...

posted about 3 years ago

DRX beat PRX and went 1-1 with ZETA, who also beat PRX, so it seems more like JP=KR>SEA?

like i said, can't know for sure until stage 2 is over

posted about 3 years ago

they won champions sure but they had a bad performance in stage 1, yeah they played with a sub but you can't say they're still the same team that won champions because they replaced their IGL. it's just not true (yet) that Acend ARE on top. it is true that they WERE on top though.

posted about 3 years ago

"last stage shouldn't even count" holy copium

posted about 3 years ago

true, i'm also not saying they're dog. i just wanted to make it clear that acend definitely aren't top of the world like kristof is making them out to be.

posted about 3 years ago

no xeppaaa?

posted about 3 years ago

yeah neT pulled rounds out of his ass along with Saya this match.

posted about 3 years ago

hopefully they prove they're on top this stage but they definitely were not on top during stage 1.

posted about 3 years ago

the team that could adapt with a sub won vct eu stage 1. it's not that hard to understand? i dont see your point. are you saying acend is still on top?

posted about 3 years ago

didnt fpx also play with a sub

posted about 3 years ago

true! best team at not making playoffs in vct stage 1!

posted about 3 years ago

Victor's Neon is what won OpTic a lot of their rounds in playoffs.

posted about 3 years ago

yeah, also isn't this the first time they've met Ghost? Guard has always seemed to be insane at beating teams that beat them, they have very good counterstratting, so it seems like an early reactive take.

posted about 3 years ago

tbf they pretty nuch qualed because he won them so many rounds through force of will

posted about 3 years ago

theres no way an NA team that gets to the top of NA while
3-0ing C9
13-2ing OpTic (and also beating them)
2-0ing LG (which beat V1)

is called a fluke. I think Masters Reykjavik kinda destroyed their mental, is all. They're all new and inexperienced players (except Saya, who seems to be the most consistent performer) so give them a break.

posted about 3 years ago

they literally 3-0'd in both LBGF and UBGF?

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, they are so good at organically using util. Gambit are what Sentinels dream of being.

posted about 3 years ago

Cheers, yeah definitely sounds more like Gambit then. Very interesting to see.

not necessarily true for either as top schools offer need-blind financial aid. In fact, if you're unsure about your economic ability to pay for tuition it's arguably better to go all-in on applying for top schools as they cover a ton of the cost.
Stanford provides like 90+% of tuition fees and the number goes higher depending on your family's annual income.

There is no real top tier college in the US that has cheap tuition though afaik lmao, so in terms of flat tuition fees you are correct. Fucking hate that tbh.

As for International awards, people who have won medals at Math Olympiads or received other awards can still be rejected from top schools (obviously less likely to be rejected than accepted but it CAN happen). Schools like MIT are purely holistic and will not care less about you if you have no awards.

I never got to really watch Astralis's games during their era as I wasn't super into the CS pro scene at the time. Can anyone give me some teams in Valorant that play the most like them?

From what I've heard Astralis was good due to their co-ordination and effective utility synergy/usage, which sounds like DRX/Fnatic, and to a lesser extent, Gambit.

But I'm obviously not in the know, so I wanted to hear your guys' opinions.

these guys own MSI lol

Caltech is a little different from schools like MIT and Stanford; it's a lot more geared towards research and academia compared to the former 2, which often include and encourage business in their education.
