Happy to clarify ๐ we had 3 top candidates at the end of trials, Flor was among those 3 best options. After interviews and internal discussions we all agreed that she was the best option. I can understand why people think it was a marketing or business decision but that's very short-sighted in my opinion. Signing a GC player is a good marketing decision IF you perform, otherwise it's a poor marketing decision. Business-wise, there would be nothing worse than losing our spot in VCT, and nothing better than finishing top 4. Every decision we have made, and will make, is with performance in mind. The two other candidates were also good candidates, but scored lower than Flor in a few performance related aspects. Those players in question have also received feedback from us on where we felt they fell short.
Edit:
If you look at our CS history you can see that we have had way more success with developing talent, than signing prolific profiles. We entered Valorant with everything we have learned in CS, and so performance and talent development has always been the foundation.
