Yeah, iirc, they bombed out of the round of 32 the challenger series before the one for Iceland.
I said "top dog", because everyone was hyping up Scream and how Liquid would take Iceland easily.
Idk, I just felt that they have a really good run to Iceland.
And to many, this was the case. Of course, if you looked at it objectively, then yeah, they have a grasp of the meta better than every other NA team (post-plant/controller meta).
But my point was regarding how others viewed it. Most people didn't view them as the second best NA team and when they went up against one of EU's "top dogs", it generated more hype than other matches.
Region. V1, despite qualifying for Iceland, was still seen as a top 5-8 team in NA, not a top 3 team in NA.
Not a 100t fan but, just because Sentinels WAS the better team then, doesn't mean they'll continue being the better team. They'll probably beat 100t, but that doesn't mean the converse can't hold true.
V1 vs Liquid was the best. Showcased how a top 5-8 team versus a top 3 team in EU would look like (of course at the time). Good match but unexpected by many in that regard.
I mean, not qualifying doesn't mean you aren't top 3. Brackets can be against your favor or maybe just a bad day.
Look at Acend failing to qualify for Iceland. A lot of people still considered them a top 2 team regardless of their failure for Iceland.
Winner of Berlin becomes the new #1 team in the world no?
Yeah V1 kinda threw against Nu; not to say NU is a bad team, V1 had advantage.
But yeah, I felt like Iceland got boring after the EU teams lost to the NA ones.
Scene is stabilizing but the format needs some work.
EDIT: Gonna be honest, Iceland was boring after the V1 vs Liquid game for me, dunno about anyone else. After V1 took down Liquid in a pretty convincing fashion + Sen taking down fnatic, results were basically predicted from then on.
It brings in more money for Riot Games
Basically in the same position as you. I have no mood to grind nor any time to really grind since college is around the corner. Playing casually in customs/unrated + watching valorant pro matches is about all I do.
My guy, you don't need to be diamond to understand pro play.
Ranked play and pro play literally don't line up just by agent compositions and coms alone.
I mean, Envy and TSM ppl always troll each other on twitter saying that the other team will go to Berlin.
Like they have contradicting messages. Victor would say that Envy couldn't even get 8 rounds on TSM, while Chet will say they never win or something like that.
From the stats I saw, its more like top 10-15%
Stats vary slightly between tracker, Blitz, and Valorants statistic
Does anyone else consider Plat decently high elo or am I just inflating my own ego?
100t have a problem with not only adjusting to the meta (much like TSM and Faze during various points), but a heavy reliance on Asuna (for frags) and steel (for holding down a site). They have one of the most mechanically gifted players in the region but they always "choke" when the time is important.
I couldn't tell if this was a copy pasta just from reading it.
Some fair points I guess?
I don't get what's wrong with this title. It's not too far from the truth really, because the hype that is described in the title is directly referencing how Yay's move to Envy would just guarantee their spot in Berlin (ppl on this forums + twitter have basically stated that). Overhype might be a very slight exaggeration, but Shahzam saying that Envy having Yay not being a guarantee win against TSM or Berlin is very fair and basically is saying that it is "overhype." Great move but the hype of them having a guaranteed path to Berlin is kinda "rubbish"?
The connotation of overhype given this context isn't to throw shade, its just a bit more realism.
Bro its really sad how unpopular the sport is over here yet to even play the sport, it costs thousands of dollars.
Competition here is utter ass
Don't tell me....you are apart of the Haikyuu fandom with the Hinata and....Imma stop there
Except the NA region sucks at football in comparison to the rest of the world
Senbobstar is already on Sentinels smh it's literally in his name....
nah, TSM making that redemption arc and subsequently beating Sentinels would be better
Cypher slow cage.....gosh that was op asf
LMAO THATS PERFECT.
These two ppl would be a decent fit for DBZ Abridged
ChupappiWardell vs Zacklikethat123?!?!?!?!?!?
Or will we find out a deeper meaning to the identities of these people!1!1!?!?!
I mean, fortnite at its prime was a good game. It was "new" and user friendly. Didn't have little kids running around in the game like it does now.
To completely ignore that and just judge it off of what it is now is just ignorant. Most people that played fortnite for fun left when epic started to direct their focus and attention towards the younger audience + lack of a "real" competitive scene.
Man, you need a promotion from your current status
Just have valorant beta gun buddy to show ur og
Best gun buddy other than maybe riot face punch buddy
yeah but no one knew how to use Jett in early beta lmao
When she finally goit her shine in act 1 + 2, they nerfed her
idk, I found Chupapi Wardell funny towards the end of his career.
This guy just looks like a bootleg / ripoff his derivative.
Was kinda offline today, is he the Sen version of Chupappi wardell but worse?
Are we talking about present tense or just all time? Cause that changes dramatically
nah nah, thanatos has the best takes wdym? He's the epitome of all fans.
Its kinda nice that they changed the brackets like that but also A LOT MORE SUSPENSE in one day. Idk if my heart can take it honestly lol
Food is a lot more consistent than Subroza so despite Subroza's recent "resurgence", I'd probably fork it over to food? Also, Food played Skye on certain maps no?
Edit: I confused Food on skye for someone else. My bad.....but roles are sort of similar in that regard.
Roza is better than Food on Skye
I'd say Levi and Crashies are similar. FNS might have slightly better mid round calling as of recent, but he's a bit worse of a sentinel player. Bang needs more time so I'm not sure if I'd want to even fork it over to Marved. He looks as good as marved just based off of recent stats and results.
NV and TSM are an extremely close match up and thats about all I can say.
I remember the first match being on a Wednesday so I don't think it suddenly changed to the 11th. Granted, I was looking at challengers finals shortly after the previous one ended (~4 days ago)
August*
Also, it was always the 11th was it not?
I don't get any of these points regarding Shahzam being an overrated igl.
I'd say as much as 50-70% of Sentinel's success is because of his midround calling and IGLing. The players on sentinels are great, but I'm confident in saying that it is Shahzam's igling which makes them seem spectacular. As much as I hate the guy, he's a pretty damn good IGL and isn't overrated in any way. No one on the sentinels roster are the best players in their respective field (2 or 3 better sentinel and controller players than Dapr and Zombs) but yet their team is so good because of his IGL.
Nah, just hope for an upper bracket win. Regardless of the chances, that's what a fan should do yk. Hope for the best case scenario and see through it to the end.
If several teams were bidding on him, I really doubt they had more than 1 day of server time with him prior to his signing.
Ever since his nickname by subroza started surfacing, people have been hyping him up.
It may be fucked and it may actually just solidify pick ems.
Making a roster change 1 week prior to qualifiers with pretty much ZERO practice time before the signing is a juggernaut. Sentinels might have pulled off that during Masters 1 but it doesn't mean that isn't a juggernaut and every case would be like theirs.
Kaboose was really good back then. Top 3 phoenix for his time.
As for Mummay, he was average within tier 1 as a AWPER, but since he was basically always on a flex, you couldn't really flame him for that.
FNS is a great IGL and playmaker. This team didn't win any tournaments but had decent top 4 finishes much like now.
I doubt we'll see him during qualifiers. Incorporating Yay into a roster 1 week before qualifiers is not the greatest move. Telling your Jett awper 1 week before qualifiers that Yay will replace him isn't too smart.
However, for Berlin, you might see Yay but sources only point towards Envy signing him out of the 8 teams in the qualifiers. The chance isn't high, but its certainly there.
