The worst NA role is sentinel since most sentinels that are most notable are IGLS like fns, boostio, and johnqt. So we don't have anyone like alfa or less. That being said, NA has the best players in the other roles, especially duelists.

Yes, he made the team much better but he isn't the sole reason that EG is world class, like you keep implying. Watch EG's old vods, they looked horrible before. Their defaults were shit, their defensive setups, pacing and trading, and overall teamplay were all so bad. Then they started gradually improving as time went on. Demon1 didn't change what I listed above much. During masters Tokyo after 2 matches I already called it that they were a top 2 team itw, before the semifinals even started. I can understand the first two, but deagling in CS is much harder than sheriff. The sheriff literally has bullet magnetism when it comes to headshots. The only way its more difficult is when you're like 50+ meters and it only does 145. Otherwise, deagle is way more difficult.
