It's just the business side of esports where riot will be cheap with how much they invest when they can see they can get away with it.

Hell you can see it even in Worlds, where their decreasing the amount of teams at worlds 2022, 2024 to 2025 from 24 teams to 22 teams to now just 17 teams. Riot is gonna be cheap when esport affects their finances to much basically. If their willing to decrease worlds teams, they ain't gonna go balls to the wall for gc.

I dont really like it either but it's gonna take awhile as long as riot has complete control of the esport scene they can be as cheap as they want and nothing anyone can really do about it.

It's not 16 because riot wants VCT champs to be the premier tournament of the year above others like worlds.
The only way GC gets to 16 is if Riot increases Champs vct from 16 , Gc gets partnership ( not happening due to riots goals), or GC just makes money that it would stupid to not invest more into it (probably not happening)

Didn't make franchising due to past org dealings with immortals/envy/optic weird org buying and dealings. CEO h3czs saw T2 as not worth it due to cost and only wanted to be in valorant if he was given franchising so pulled out especially after wining a major.
